Best in Juneau. Impressive culinary skills and presentation for a city of 30,000. Perfect ambience for a special night out, with... dim lights and dark cozy colors. Bread plate was appetizing with kalamata olive bread. Prosciutto-wrapped scallops weredelicious, and more delicate than bacon-wrapped. Butcher's cut (hangar steak) was delicious, tender, and nicely seasoned, andaccompanied by perfect jalapeno mashed potatoes. The "frutti di marre" assorted seafood platter was delicious and fresh, colorful and tasty. Read more

Our eating experience here was world-class. I'm pretty sure we were silent most of the meal as we enjoyed every single bite.... Beware! The bread has olives in it, which I loved, but my companion did not. It's okay, that just means more for me! Also, besure to verify whether you're getting a lunch or dinner menu. We were accidentally given the dinner menu at lunch, and we hadour heart set on a few things not on the lunch menu, we ended up having to regroup to reorder. Not that big of a deal, albeit atad disappointing. Read more

Amazing!! My sister came to visit and as I was driving her around we saw the restaurant and decided to eat there. Damn, I'm glad... we did. The brussel sprouts and grilled avacado were amazing!! Top notch. So much so, I also ordered those appetizers to go sothat I could enjoy them during the week. As main dishes, I had the halibut and my sister had the pasta and squash. Although themain dishes were good, the appetizers were the show stoppers and they will be the reason I visit again in the near future. Read more

Superb! The food and ambiance were absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the champagne and brie fondue, followed by a Gorgonzola and... brie salad. One of my friends ordered the lollipop lamb chops as an appetizer. Read more

Right out of the gate: the lighting is very dim in Salt, so my photos aren't the best. Also, I have an old Android. Nuff said... there. This review is 5 stars bc of the halibut and lollipop lamb chops. Other items on the menu were will less than 5. So, the halibut, juicy, tender, and subtly sweet. FYI...If your halibut is ever strong and fishy flavored, it is old. The lollipoplambchops were the best I've eaten, and I've eaten my share. Rare, extra juicy, tender, no knife needed. Instead, use yourhands, grab the bone and bite off a chunk. The appetizer scallops were a little pedestrian. They were not over cooked, but theproscuitto was floppy and way too salty. The scallops would have been better served with a contrasting maple bacon or evenwhiskey cured bacon instead of the proscuitto. RE: bacon and salt, not all bacon is really salty. Also, add some color to thepresentation. Maybe a spray of sliced strawberries. Or few fresh sliced cherries. Baked oysters Rockefeller, average. Fordessert the Coconut Cake was a bit over the top. The internal portion of the cake crumb it self was nicely flavored but a taddry. The outer aspect of the cake crumb was overbaked, on the cusp of burnt, see photo. The outer crumb was a bit tough. Theportion was the largest serving of cake I've ever been presented. Not sure if it was the last piece or cook just wanted to getrid of it. Re: the frosting? Well, there was a ton of coconut poured all over the outer sides. Maybe an attempt to compensatefor the burnt aspect. Under all the coconut was a light slathering of sweet frosting that allowed the coconut to stick. I tookhalf of it home. The next day, the left over cake had morphed into a coffee cake consistency so, I dunked in a triple esspesso. My husband,s Pistachio Creme Brule was novel, except the mint garnish was wilted at the tips. We both enjoyed cold, crispmartinis, his was a "lemon drop" martini. Mine were standard. One a well vodka, one a Tanqueray. The servic Read more
