Our group came here for dinner one night while visiting Juneau and we had a fantastic experience! The pasta and pizzas were all... great and affordable! Very mixed feelings. First, you need a reservation unless you are ready to wait up to 1,5h to sit by bar. It took us some 40 min... so no problem here. Food and service is a problem. It only serves pizza and pasta, so one would expect them to be top notch.Pizzas are. made in wood burning oven but come out burned a lot - either its too hot or pizza guy keeps them too long. Ours waspassable from burning and tasted good. Pasta (spaghetti and meat balls) was overcooked and meatballs consisted lot of fennelthat overpowered everything. Then the music. "Italian place" plays heavy hip-hop. It's good hip-hop but place, food and musicdoes not match. And a big no go - wine is being poured over a scale. How hard it is to learn to pour it to a glass!? Impressed to see they had a Filipino dish in their special: octopus sisig?-it was good, but it tasted more like kinilaw (another... filipino dish). The salmon steak was delicious and prepared how i like it. Neat spot overall Read more
I don?t know what happened, but pizza for takeout was stone cold. Overcooked with all the burnt crispy dregs from the bottom of... the oven. Garlic was mush. Barely any tomato sauce, couldn?t taste it. No presence of a tasty sauce. Cheese was mostly missing.I couldn?t even eat the cardboard crust. Read more
Ive never liked spaghetti/ red sauce in my life until I ate here years ago and used to come back weekly when I lived in Juneau... just to order spaghetti & meatballs The pasta is hand made sauce its a simple flavorful pomodoro, and the pork& beef ricottameatballs are so delicious. I?ve tried to perfect it but only ever came slightly close Love the specials that are alwaysfeatured. Shawn was our server and he was fantastic! We ordered an Antipasto Platter which is nuts, vegetables, cheeses, cured meats,... garlic bread listed on the menu. It wasn't what we expected as it included mostly pickled veggies and only 1 cured meat and 1cheese. The strawberries, nuts and meat were our favorite. The sourdough bread also left much to be desired. However, thecanolli and bread pudding were good. Read more
I'm an idiot and didn't get a reservation, so had to wait to be seated, but got the NY pepperoni pizza. Ate the whole thing,... really good. Will have again for sure. Read more
