If you have seen Fried Green Tomatoes and are in love with the movie as we are then it is a must that you make a stop here!... Fantastic food, great service, amazing experience! We had the Fried Green Tomatoes for an appetizer and then country fried steakwith fried okra, fried mushrooms, collard greens and mashed potatoes. I cant not recommend this place higher! Read more

The Whistle Stop Cafe is a jewel. A buddy and I rode our motorcycles through a beautiful forest to visit eat here and enjoy the... scenery. We were seated promptly and despite how busy the restaurant was, service and speed were second to none. All the foodwas piping hot and fresh. The portions were good for the price. Multiple customers bragging about how good the food is. Read more

What a cool place and such a gem to stumble upon when in the area. We are from North GA and made the trip down specifically to... visit this restaurant and make a few more stops in the area for a day trip. The food and service are amazing. The town isadorable and has plenty of references from Fried Green Tomatoes and a lot of antique shops. The train comes by often and evenshakes the restaurant. Make sure to check the open days and times. We came at 12 noon on a Monday and there was a decent wait.We weren?t in a rush so it was perfect for us to walk around until we were sat. You walk up to the door and write your own nameon the wait list, then they will call out when your table is ready. This is a must visit when in the area for sure! Read more

After trying to eat here twice over the past year and not having any luck (one time they were closed and the other they had a... water main break) my family and I were finally able to have a meal here about a month ago. I must admit that I wanted to eatinside only because of the movie and I really expected they'd be riding the coat tails of the movie and have mediocre food. Ihonestly didn't have high expectations. When I left though, my jeans were probably wishing my expectations had been met. As aSouth Carolinian, born and raised, they are doing this southern food right! My mama always made excellent fried green tomatoes,so I know how they are supposed to taste. They nailed them here! Hot and fresh with that flaky crispy breading. Delicious! TheBBQ may not have been the best I've ever eaten (I'm picky about my BBQ though), but it was delicious enough that I felt guiltyleaving a few bites behind from being stuffed. The fries were very good as well and my husband commented that their sweet teawas "perfect". Now, while you may be full after a meal please don't leave without trying their pecan cobbler. Lord have mercy, that is a bowl of heaven. I can't wait to get back and have another taste of it! Our waitress was awesome as well and most ofthe staff seemed very friendly. It was a very cool experience having a meal at the counter and seeing the staff joke around andserve everyone. The down home vibe is nice and kind of made me feel like I was in the movie itself. The Whistle Stop Cafeexceeded my expectations and I can't wait to return with my mom on our next road trip! Read more
