I haven?t ate at Hoss in years. It wasn?t bad for the price and salad bar. Three choices of CD soups, nacho bar, salad bar, and... ai got the ribeye steak which was thin, average, a little salt and pepper tasty. Small portion of mash but overall would goback. Read more
After visiting a loved one at the Johnstown Rehab Center, we stopped at Hoss's & the 4 of us selected the Salad Bar & were once... again greatly satisfied! Really can't complain about this place. The servers have always been very friendly and helpful, and the food is always good. ... Just wish they did a better job at restocking soups because there are times there is only broth in the chicken noodle soup orwedding soup- but I know they are working hard and still doing a great job ???? Amazing waiter and kind staff me and my family went here the other night and the food was awsome and the place was clean the... service was quick and my food was the most delicious of all. And the desert was also delicious. I recommend this place. Read more
Our server, Ashley, was great. Kind, empathetic and friendly, she made the trip worth while. That being said, I had the soup... and salad bar and it was nothing to talk about. The soups had dry crusts on the tops from the lack of use or stirring and someof the different salad mixes they had (potato salad, noodle salads, etc) were, I dont know, just not good. Visually appealingand not bad mind you, just flavorless and blah. Even worse, the young lady maintaing the salad bar, who had a CONSTANT scowlwhile there would stand RIGHT NEXT YOU, well within your personal space, and as you made a salad plate and moved to the nextadditive she rush up and clean the area you were just at as if a baby has just ruined it. This very disconcerting and almostmade you feel uncomfortable. She had no problem, with her demeanor, letting you know, without words, it was your fault she hadto clean the area since you didn't put the spoon for the dressings back in the right spot. Wow! Well, the ceiling looks disgusting. Wonder if there is mold on the other side. The food was cold, cold baked potato, barely warm... chopped steak, cold vegetables. Stopped eating and ask for a new one. Got a new hot baked potato and the rest was just the oldsteak and vegetables warmed up in a microwave, I guess. Very disappointed! With the food,well if the chef has a bad day ithappens and some chefs don't care. However the ceiling is pointing to more substantial issues. Read more
Excellent service, very quaint, a great place to go if you?re interested in conversation as it?s not overly loud. Food came out... relatively quick, the house was maybe 35-40% full. High school aged hostess?s and waiter/waitresses, mine was very respectfuland well put together. I chose the chicken, yes at a steak house, it was decent but you can tell it?s not a fresh cut and handbattered and fried which is why you don?t see 5 stars. I wasn?t terribly disappointed, because I wasn?t sure what to expect.This came with two sides, I opted for their chicken soup and fries. The fries and soup were over par, soup was way better than Iexpected. Their house BBQ sauce is a nice touch, I enjoyed it too. Service I?d rate 5 star- tipped accordingly- these folks needevery dime you can spare. It?s nice to see folks who want to work and seem to enjoy their job. Atmosphere - I?d rate 4.5 - Ilike a quiet little place, but just a smidge if background music like piano music in the background to cut the silence would benice.
