Update: Ron, the owner called me several weeks after I wrote this review. He actually went through the orders from that night,... and call logs to find me. I'm sure it was no small effort on his part. When he called he was very upset about the pizza Ireceived. He apologized and explained what I received is just not ok. He was very sincere and not just playing the part. Wetalked a bit more, discussed the good and "to be improved" challenges he is facing. He gave me a credit which I have since usedto order stromboli and salad. This time everything was cooked properly and tasted great. The large side of sauce they giveyou for the stromboli is magic for me. The salad was very fresh and appeared to be hand cut versus run through a machine likesome others in Johnstown do. I really liked the lack of "stumps", the annoying white part of iceberg lettuce on the bottom. I'm leaving the original one star rating just so people can see Dirkos Johnstown isn't perfect, but worth a try and the ownerreally does care! My new rating if I were to update it would be four stars. Original Review Flat out awful on several levels. We ordered a BBQ Chicken pizza, and got a pissa. Very light on sauce and chicken cubes, cheese is burned and hard, crust isovercooked and somewhat burnt. All that after waiting 40 minutes before it was ready. I've tried Dirko's Johnstown severaltimes, they always take a long time for orders and the pizza / stromboli is normally "ok" but never great. Tonight will be thelast time I order there...ever, or at least until I see a "under new management" sign out front. From what I can tell thesource of their problems are too many unsupervised youth workers and no concept of quality control. Seriously, these guys areflat awful, I suggest you try Johnnies Pizza Villa or The Other Guy pizza instead. Both are always on top of their game. Read more

Ordered and picked-up New Years Eve 2020, wait was a little longer than expected but that's alright and understandable on a... holiday eve. Pizza was great...temperature just right, just enough sauce, crust was crispy and ingredients were tasty, BBQchicken was surprisingly very good. This might give Villa a run for their money and also, just might be the go to in thefuture. Either way supporting these small business in J Town is very important to us. Keep it up Dirkos. Read more
