Last week was our family's second time vacationing here. The first time was pre-COVID about five years ago. The facilities,... room, food and staff were as world class as we remembered. Many thanks to everyone for their kindness in accommodating ourautistic son, and making the celebration of my wife's 50th birthday a wonderful experience. For the curious, I would say thebest part of this resort is the 3+ meals a day that is included in the room rate. The food is up there with the best resortfood you'll find around the world, but the Fogo Island and NL cuisine focus is indeed special. Whether you want to veg out andread in front of a dramatic rocky shoreline, or have guided hikes around the island, this resort is really about doing yourthing without pressure to do anything. You can park the car and take the trail right up to the hotel. They have some nice seating around a firepit where you can sit... and enjoy the ambiance. Unfortunately, if you don't stay at the hotel you can't go inside. Read more

The staff. They are amazing. From Sandra who greets you and makes sure everything goes perfectly, to the dining staff and... kitchen. The creative chefs make something new and unique every day and the servers and bar staff are also outstanding andextremely friendly and accommodating. The Inn itself is a daring concept by Zita Cobb and a feat of architectural beauty. Itis situated on rocky terrain with an unsurpassed panoramic view of the ocean. We’ve visited this spectacular Inn twice now andhope we can make it there one more time. Thanks to everyone, the front desk, the people who shuffle the cars, the housekeepingstaff, and especially Zita who followed her dream and created not only this fabulous place but contributed so much to thecommunity of Fogo Island. Definitely one of the best places I've ever been in Canada and world wide. The foundations commitment to making sure the culture... and heritage of Fogo island is maintained is spectacular. Food staff and the amenities are all wonderful. Would highly recommendthis all inclusive vacation, and this will definitely be on the top of my vacation list. They also have a great video on thecreation inspiration and the owners humble approach to building this facility for the community on Fogo island and everythingmade in the Inn is all based from the island. Will definitely be back again in the summer! Read more

A beautiful and unique inn that is very very remote. The hospitality is top notch, food is fantastic, the pastries were a huge... highlight, and level of service and attention to detail made our stay perfect. There are so many surprises and delights here soI won’t ruin them here. Great if you are an architecture and design nerd who appreciates the juxtaposition between built andstunning nature. Definitely hike to each of the artist studios if you like contemporary architecture. We learned so much aboutthe history and community here and even picked up some Newfoundland jargon. Get ready to find pleasure in small-town living andhistory and see how this inn has found itself rejuvenating/integrating into this fishing community. This Inn sets the precedentinto integrated and sustainable tourism and should be how other tourism pockets should think about supporting their localcommunities while bringing in tourism and education. This is definitely the nicest hotel I've stayed in and I've stayed in 5 star hotels in north America and Europe. The price seems... high, but when you actually consider its more of a resort than simply a place to sleep it's actually fairly reasonable in mymind. It's the reason you come to Fogo Island as opposed to most hotels I've stayed in it's simply somewhere to sleep wholevisiting a particular area. Staying here is a fusion of a nordic spa and a culinary experience. 3 meals a day are provided andare some of the most amazing food I've ever tasted easily on par with the best European restaurants I've been to. Between mealstime is spent going for scenic walks on the island or enjoying amenities on site including sauna and hot tubs every night whichare on top of the building and beautiful under the stars. The staff are amazing and while sometimes things felt a littleunorthodox they are extremely friendly and do anything they can to make your stay enjoyable. They drove my rental car to theferry the night before I left to make sure it was at the front of the line to get on the ferry as an example and then drove meto it the next morning. My girlfriend forgot something in the car and they drove an hour to get it without any issues. Theservice is truly second to none. Overall its probably my most enjoyable trip I've taken and would highly recommend it to anyone. The main criticism I hear is around pricing but as Ive mentioned I think it's actually very reasonably priced for theexperience.
