Beautiful Views, Good Red Wine (I think I had Cabernet or Malbec) and Appetizers... The Fries with some type of cheese is... amazing (Sorry, don't remember the name of it)! The Pizza on the Appetizer List (which I also don't remember the name) was supergood too. Been here a couple of times and had good experiences. The service was mediocre the third time because I think theywere having some sort of event and I wasn't able to sit at my favorite spot. But overall it's a recommendable place... Eitherfor groups or with a loved one. I don't think having children here would be very pleasant. Read more
Very cozy and warm restaurant. Beautiful view of the NYC skyline. Menu selection is a little limited but not bad (wish they had... more choices). Parking garage is literally right next door which is nice. Service was really good. Read more
I love the atmosphere of this place give how bright and near the water it is. Also appreciate the TV and the fact that it’s... spacious; their food is good and beer selection is great. Regretfully, I had a horrible experience there last Saturday when Itook my family (party of 10) who was visiting from out of the country. I will outline the issues that hurt our experience notbecause I want to discourage people from going there, but because I would really like Taphaus to improve before we get tosummer, where they will be busy and when the place will be the most enjoyable. We also though our waiter was very nice and washelpful taking pictures and handling my son’s baptism cake, etc, so This is directed to the restaurant management and not thewaiter. (Caveat): the place was super empty when we were there with just our party plus 4 tables of 4 in the very begging butthen just one other table for most of our meal, so chaos/busy cannot have been a contributor. 1) timing food is difficult, butwe had a 10 min gap between the 2 batches of entrees for each of us 2) perhaps because of the difficulty to time our dishes,steak sandwiches came out cold, we had to ask to re-heat 3) as we were having my sons baptism celebratory cake and folks weregiving him gifts, the fire alarm sounded continuously for at least 10 minute, totally disruption the atmosphere 4) bothbathrooms ran out of paper/hand towels. The men’s ran out by the first 1/3 of our meal and the women just a bit later. It wasnever replaced because clearly no staff checking on bathrooms or ignored it when they actually had to use the bathroom 5) didnot bring fries that were part of my sister-in-law’s entree 6) I asked for oil, vinegar and salt. Salt never came Again justus in the restaurant. So please, Taphaus, get the house and processes in order as we get into the summer season.
