Reviews for Luna in Jersey City, NJ
Came on Monday night and vibes were really good, not busy and food was really savory and tasty. Jackie the waitress was superb... and helped addressed a problem we had with one of the dishes. If you need an comfort food fix, this is your spot! Read more
Lots of seats to choose from-inside or outside. We didn?t make reservations. We arrived at around 5ish and the place had many... seats available. We chose the covered outside seats. The food was delicious and the waitress was pleasant and sweet. Extremelypolite and resourceful. We went because we saw it advertised on Instagram. There?s no Argentinian infusion at all. Falseadvertisement. This is totally an Italian restaurant. That was disappointing. Hence the 4 stars. Nevertheless, the service issuperb and what we ordered was truly delicious. Love the ambiance. Not too crowded. Fair prices. The total was around 84 dollarsincluding Buffalo chicken wings and a molten lava cake not pictured. Make sure during the summer months to spray with mosquitoes???? repellent. I got biten a few times. Read more

We came for dinner on a Thursday night around 7pm and were promptly seated upstairs. There was a live band playing Spanish... songs. It was a bit loud, but once we got used to it, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre white wine. Itwas very good at a fair price ($55), but could have been chilled more. Service was attentive and friendly. The Octopusappetizer was tasty, but more like a potato salad with cherry tomatoes and octopus. For main courses, the Pappardelle Bolognesewas good but I have had better ones. The sauce was a bit too "watery". I prefer thicker sauces that cling on to every bite ofthe pasta. We loved the Branzino entree. The fish was moist and well flavored, and the mashed potato was really good. I don'tthink the crab meat on top added much (but price :-) to the dish though. Overall, we enjoyed our night out at Luna. Read more
Wonderful atmosphere, love the vibe. They have great specialty drinks, the Jersey Sour and Golden Boy are the best in my... opinion. Their food is delicious, I?ve tried their BBQ omelet, Churrasco and eggs, chicken and waffles. The food menu is limitednot many options but overall really delicious. They also have bottomless mimosas for brunch. Is street parking, plan ahead tofind parking and pay the meter. Read more
Nice ambiance and decor for outdoor seating, but the food was ok. The burrata, wings and salmon were good. I did wish the... burrata salad was a little larger. I was told the lobster ravioli was and Cacio E Pepe were ok. Service was a bit slow for aThursday night, considering it wasn?t very crowded. We appreciated not being rushed, but we did wish they came by to refill ourwater. Review is from a visit in August. Read more
Came on a Tuesday night, made a reservation but probably didn?t need to, it was bustling but not packed. The vibes were great... with live jazz music (I think only tuesday nights though)- a tad loud but it was nice. Long Cavatelli - this one was decent butjust short of great Zucchini Noodles - this one was surprisingly good (they do add regular noodles into the mix as well and mymom added shrimp) Chicken Rollatini - I got this dish and would recommend it! It had great flavors and I loved the mushrooms andthe sauce added. The chicken wasn?t dry at all and the bacon and the prosciutto added a good kick to the whole dish! ComeAgain? Sure! Not planning my next visit already but Luna is convenient (located close to the grove street station) and the foodwas delicious! Read more
Luna is a beautiful venue with a variety of interesting dishes that are tasty albeit a little incongruent. I was pulled in by... their sign for Mondays special for the Che pizza which I didn?t even know what it was. I was pleasantly surprised on the firstvisit that that pizza was excellent especially with the Monday specials. So I added Luna to one of the spots I can stop by forMondays dropping about $80/visit. Pizza is good, spaghetti had good texture and good chunk of meatballs. The sauce was watery.Their pasta in general is solid cooked to near perfection. The calamari had good batter and crispy but bland in all otherareas. Service was overall terrific but unfortunately on my most recent visit, it fell short. I suppose in customer service allit takes is one bad experience to lose business. I ordered my typical Che pizza and some entrees. When I got the check I noticedthe che was charged at regular price. I asked the bartender why I didn?t get the happy hour price. She said I told you when youadd a topping it?s regular price. Perhaps I?m at fault due to previous experiences of coming on Mondays for the special and notgetting up charged. Regardless, I felt her response was rude when she could had easily responded with ?apologies for themiscommunication?. When I explained I got the happy hour prices before with topping, she said, well you got a discount in asnide comment. If this is a management practice for a single topping, I do think it?s poor practice as many others will beconfused by this. I felt like I was tricked and that?s not a good feeling. I won?t be back personally but don?t let this deteryou. I do like this restaurant overall but the bad experience ruined it for me, and all they made was an extra $10 instead ofhaving a regular customer. Kind of baffling when businesses are not able to think long term. Read more
