Comfortable and spacious indoor space. The yucca fries are great - perfectly fried. The ropa vieja mofongo has great taste... though I think the ropa vieja could have been more finely shredded. Recently move to Jersey City and have been trying all the local restaurants. Hard Grove has a great atmosphere. Bartenders are... super friendly. The food was excellent. Fist time coming to hard grove with my family. Very cozy, nice and clean . The food was outstanding. the DJ was great! Love the... music . My server’s name was James . He was very intensive and professional he really made us feel welcome. He gave us somegreat food choices and was very friendly. He made sure we were 100% satisfied. Last night, I went to Hard Grove restaurant with a group of 4. We had a terrible experience from the moment we walked into the... restaurant. They couldn't find our reservation but sat us anyways since the place was nearly empty. We had to request therestaurant week menu. The service was slow and more concerned with us buying alcoholic beverages than taking our food order. Ittook them one hour to bring us 2 of 4 appetizers we ordered. After 2 hours, they tried to bring out 2 of the 4 entrées whilewe were still waiting for the other 2 people in our party to get their appetizers. The waiter was rude when we asked him forhelp. He tried to confront us claiming that all 4 appetizers were served. He finally went to the back of the kitchen to confirmwe were right. At this point, we were afraid they might contaminate our food therefore we requested a check for only the foodwe consumed and beverages. He refused and argued that the food was already made in the back and we have to pay for it. Werefused because after 2 hours of waiting and arguing with him we were over the place and needed to head to our next destination.He claimed "this isn't Olive Garden, we are a small mom and pop place and you have to pay." At this point, we asked to speak toa manager. The manager came to address our concerns but still insisted on us taking the food to go, we emphasized we didn't wantfood from the establishment. After a bit of back and forth, she finally agreed and brought us a check for the food weconsumed. I'm was extremely disappointed in this experience and don't recommend this place. Read more
Recently I had dinner here with a group of friends. Although initially the service was a bit choppy and unorganized, we even... had to ask if we could get another round of drinks, the food was spot on, very good. Affordable, delicious food and great service! The chimichurri steak was delicious and had a great charred taste. The ham and... cheese fried appetizer thing I forgot the name of was awesome. The empanadas were huge, too. Our water glasses stayed full andthe cafe con leche we ended our meal with was some of the best I’ve had (and it was under $5 for a huge cup). Almost all ofthe appetizers were under $10, and although most are small portions I think it’s perfect because they’re so filling. Theinside reminds me of a college bar mixed with a hip restaurant, which is a weird vibe, but it grew on me! Overall, can’t waitto go back and try the brunch — great prices for great food. Read more
The Food was so good it was gone in 60 sec. I had a great server named James who has a great attitude. He was entertaining and... made the experience more enjoyable.
