The female owner of the shop is really nice and polite, and always welcome you with a smile . However, the male employees act... arrogant as if they are better than you. And talk about you most likely in their language. They laugh at you if you?re politeand use human decency and manners, such as saying thanking you and smiling at them. They must not be used to polite friendlypeople in their lives. The food is ok. But I?d like people who aren?t snobs because they live in ?downtown? jersey city servingme. I?ll go to Dunkin donuts with the normal people. Read more

Had a small scoop of hazelnut gelato and it was good!! Finally, somewhere in JC with actual gelato and not ice cream. My... partner had the dulce de leche & he was also very happy. A tiny expensive for just 1 small scoop (~$4), but at least it tasteddelizioso! Read more

A nice, tranquil place to relax and treat yourself. I love the quinoa salad (pictured). I also suggest the homemade Argentinian... empanadas. Read more

For some reason their regular pancakes taste bland. Like they use a lot of flour on it so the taste wasn't really appetizing. ... The portion was big. It's just the taste that is kinda off. Read more

I really, really want to love Gia Gelato Cafe -- I loved, loved, loved the place under the previous owners and was a regular... here. for months now I have been trying to become a regular again. But now, while the staff is friendly and I like them and Ireally do want to love the place, the food is never really cooked properly and the service is slow. After many repeated tries, Ithink I may have to admit to myself this is no longer the place for me. They NEVER toast the toast -- only slightly warm and dryour some pieces of bread and they most often don't provide butter for the toast (though if you ask for it they will bring some. They often don't cook bacon well enough either. I just recently had the breakfast quesadilla and it was cold. I don't mean itjust wasn't hot and only a little warm. I mean it was cold. So cold the shredded cheese didn't melt at all and some of the baconwas actually 100% raw. It's like the cook/chef is afraid to actually cook things. Also depending on who is there the service isslow. The staff is SUPER nice, but hardly speedy and some seem not quite on-the-ball. I am very sad to say this is not nearlythe place it used to be a few years ago. Such a shame -- but basic cooking skills and speed of service are key to whether aplace is good or not -- and this place struggles in both areas. Read more
