When we visited a few years ago when the restaurant first opened. It was mediocre. BUT...ownership and management changed since... then! If you haven't visited recently, you should. This is the 3rd time we've visited in less than a year, and the service isconsistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The vibe is relaxed, comfortable, with a "town taverna somewhere in Spain orPortugal" feel to it. The menu reflects this by combining Old and New World Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian ingredients,flavors, and cooking styles. Olives, onions and garlic, capers, ripe tomatoes, fresh greens, and traditional cheeses figureprominently in all the appetizer and entree selections. My spouse generally avoids entrees like pork chops because very often,he reports it yo be very dry and chewy. Not so at Port Barna where the chef cooked the chop thoroughly, but in a manner and withingredients keeping it moist and succulent (onions, green olives, capers). My entree salad, Barna Boat, is a clever way ofarranging flavors and textures of fresh greens incorporating ripe avocado, a personal favorite. The wholesome atmosphere,cuisine traditions and cooking styles, and freshness of ingredients make for a healthy and delicious meal. It's a YES from me! Read more
If visiting the Treasure Coast Square mall, and looking for a nice sit down meal with cocktails then Port Barna is a perfect... spot. This Mediterranean style restaurant offers a variety of healthy dishes, tapas, sandwiches and much more. The decor is veryunique and whimsical. There is a nice size sit down bar to enjoy drinks, and indoor/outdoor seating. The staff was very pleasantand friendly. I started with potato wedges which were hot and soft on the inside with a nice crunchy outside. For my meal Ienjoyed the Avocado Chicken Wood. The meal consisted of a well seasoned, grilled chicken breast that was moist, hot and tender.Served with a nice green salad, drizzled in olive oil with almond slices, and a nice portion of Avocado slices. The meal wasserved on a cutting board which made a nice presentation. For dessert I spoiled myself with a slice of Tiramisu and cup ofcoffee. The presentation was beautiful but it was just a little dry but still enjoyable. The meals can be pricey but the foodportions and quality are worth it. Read more
Second year in a row we celebrated our 27th anniversary at our favorite restaurant. This time we had the wine, argentinan of... course and it was delicious but we had to have the sangria also. We visited 2 weeks ago and were informed that Tuesday and Thursday is 40% off Tapas nights. The food was fine. We returned... tonight (Thursday) placed Drink orders and Tapas. After serving drinks the waitress came out and told us the 40% off is nolonger valid. ?The owner ended it unless you have a coupon?. Interestingly we HAD the coupon but left it home because we didn?tthink we needed it based on the last visit. When I explained that to the manager, she said I would need to go home and get it. Itold her I live 20 minutes away. 40 minutes, to leave and come back. We were already served our drinks! We paid for the drinks,and will never go back. To the owner- here?s that coupon that made all the difference between a customer that would havereturned, and one that will never be back. Read more
Visited Port Barna after Christmas Shopping since is conveniently located at the Jensen Beach Mall and it was an amazing... experience. I went on a Tuesday which appetizers are half off. The empanadas were on point , the main dish was delicious and theservice was great. They have a full bar and great variety of beers and wines which it makes it perfect for a nice date or a goodwork lunch. Will definitely come back. Read more
What a truly unexpected FABULOUS experience this was!!! We made a reservation for a Saturday afternoon and great table was set... aside for us. We came for the PAELLA! Which includes a bottle of wine and homemade bread with a wonderful tasting butter withchives (nice touch). The menu says this dish serves 4 but we actually had a whole container full to take home even with 4 adultsat dinner. I thought it would take a long time to get served after ordering but in reality it wasn't even that long of a waitbefore the Paella was at the table. Great presentation and when I say the rice was so tasty, the grain was large and well cookedit's an understatement. You should definitely try it because of the seafood flavor and great value. $45!!!!
