I had read about Wedl's Hamburger a while ago, and finally was in the area. So glad I stopped! I had a double cheeseburger. It... was very good! The stand is very tiny, located right on the corner. So fun to see it! They have a medium-size indoor facilitywith a very large outdoor patio, and also have a good amount of green lawn space to sit while waiting, or to sit and enjoy anice cream cone. I was very lucky - I parked and was immediately able to order. After I paid, I turned around to realize therewas now a line of 4 people behind me! I am told there is usually a line of customers. ???? Expensive, been here for a long time. I once knew it as Armstrong's. But it's becoming too expensive. Fries are not good, very... dry. Stuffed mushrooms were decent. Fried onions on a double cheeseburger is around $8. Very good flavor on patty but not worth$8 or more for one burger. Very greasy. My son approves of ice cream here. Read more

An experience worth the effort. 3 friendly people cranking out food in a glorified street side box. You can watch them make your... food. I enjoyed a double cheeseburger burger with onion and added the pickles available by the condiments. A can of orangecrush completed this dip into nostalgia. The fries reminded me of that place with the arches, but I have not eaten there forabout a decade. The burger was enjoyable. For such a thin burger it has its share of grease. Atmosphere was great, staff was friendly, and food was delicious. Bought the pizza burger, cheese curds, and strawberry banana... shake. Would definitely recommend anyone to try this place out. Definitely going back if I'm in the area. Read more

The patties are very thin. The sign on the wall says 1/6 of a lb. The double cheese burger is about the size of a normal burger.... No options like tomatoes, lettuce etc. Just a burger then add ketchup mustard pickles. They come with or without onions. Friesare good. Cheese curds were also good. I agree they are very salty. But not so bad I didn't enjoy my food. Food came outquickly. We sat inside the ice cream shop to eat. There is a patio too you can sit in as well. I got my soda in a can. This is one of the must-visit places in Jefferson County. They are a local institution known for their ice cream and burgers. I... ordered a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions (a must!). The burger patty seemed a little small?maybe a 6-1? But, it tastedgood. Normally if I order a smaller patty like that I prefer it to be grilled crispy. It was good, but not up to its usualstandards. This is one of those situations where the whole things works together in a wonderful way?even if the individual partsaren?t perfect. The fries are good. I?ve also ordered the cheese curds in the past. The kids meal was a great value with a hotdog, fries, milk and a kiddie scoop. The ice cream is from the Chocolate Shoppe brand out of Madison.
