Enjoyed dinner in my hotel tonight. They had a new menu sot it?d was a first night. I enjoyed a steak, fries, and onion rings... item. The steak came cooked as I requested. In addition there was a sautéed kale and leeks and flavoured butter. It was quitedelicious. My server was Evan and he was friendly and professional. I also had a house Cesar with gin ( my preference) witholives and a little olive juice. I finished with an apple crisp. Interestingly it had a marshmallow topping I thought might betoo sweet but it was quite good. If I were staying longer I?d definitely go back. Read more

We got vouchers for the breakfast which is not for the online menu. It?s for the buffet?. We went at 8:30 and I?m not sure if... everything had been sitting out since the day before but the scrambled eggs were like a warm sheet of yellow styrofoam that youchipped your fill, bacon and sausage, potatoes heated up in the deep fryer, but some how soft. Pancakes? That could not be cutwith a butter knife. You could fill a purse and stop a mugging with these things. Cold food was cold, bread toasted, and coffeewas weak but hot. Unfortunately I?m sure because the hotel is stuffy and dated they tried to bring people in with a cheapbreakfast. The regular menu may be fantastic, but I?ll never find out. Read more

Wild boar hash was excellent. Staff was friendly and professional. Service was a little slow, but it was also extremely busy and... you can't fault a kitchen for that. Overall very good and would recommend Read more

The hostess was not welcoming. She put us on a table by the door where people come in. I asked nicely twice to move to the... inside. She would only move us one table over. I wanted to sit closer to the fireplace. We should have left. The waitressthought was good and friendly. But the food was not good at all. We won't return or recommend. Read more

My wife and I had a very special meal (Chef's Dinner with wine pairings) at Walter's Dining Room in the Sawridge Inn. We went... expecting a special meal and were not disappointed. We enjoyed a wonderful experience in a private dining room and were treatedwonderfully by Nick who was not only pleasant and knew the menu very well, but is also very knowledgeable about wines that werepaired with each course. Chef Damian is very talented and prepared each course to perfection with perfect timing. We didn't feelrushed and the next course arrived at the table after a small rest. Presentation was beautiful and the flavour combinations werespectacular. After a 5-course meal (and 2 palate cleansers as well) with a different wine that went amazingly with the food wewere stuffed. I can't say enough about this experience ... highly recommended. Thanks so much Chef Damian and Nick. Read more

Celebrating my mom's 60th birthday in Jasper. Decided to stay at the Sawridge based on a friend's recommendation. The hotel was... great. We decided to try out the restaurant for breakfast. Started off nice enough. Free for the kidlets to eat (5 and under)and $10 for the 7 year old for a full buffet. The service was horrible. The restaurant was dead which didn't make sense why ourcoffees continued to go empty. We would ask for a top up and would immediately be forgotten until we found another waiter.Asking for Ketchup was the same battle. Immediately forgotten until we would hunt someone down. The 4 adults ordered off of themenu. I honestly believe that the staff bank on everyone having the buffet. 3 adults recieved their meals and the one remainingadult waited about 10 minutes to get hers. The "fresh" fruit that came with the meals was a joke. It was the driest fruit youcould imagine. I'm guessing that it was left out on the table for previous customers and would be recycled until someone waswilling to eat it. One of our party members ordered the Salmon and Spinach Classic aka The Slimy "Salmonella" Classic. Hebecame sick to his stomach after eating it. The first bite slid down his throat a little too easily. The rest of it was NOTedible. The second star is for the waiter "comping" the Salmonella Classic. We were initially given a 50% off for thatparticular meal but refused to pay. The waiter spoke with the management and agreed to not charge for that one portion. Read more

Probably one of the worse experiences waited 10minutes to be seated was only seated after and would be quick the place was empty... but was told they had reservations ( 90minutes later the restaurant was still empty). The server seemed puzzled most of theevening my soup was a little cool taste was average at best. Had the lamb shank was obviously reheated as it was cool in themiddle their was a it was in a flavourless liquid?.. dessert I had the creme brûlée thinking how could they screw it up ...they did sugar wasn't melted so got a mouthful of low grade white sugar. The server alerted the manager offered an apology onlyafter a long discussion with I guess the chef s they stared at us from afar. One of the worse meals I've had in 50 years!!! Ohthey gave me 10% off WOW. I will say the front desk staff were very friendly and professional Read more

Dinner here were fabulous. I had salmon with veggies. The dish was not only beautiful, but it was the best meal I had during a... nine day stay in Alberta. I am a foodie and visit some of the best restaurants in the world. I don't understand some of thereviews here, because Walters is definitely fine dining. First class service. First class food. I was staying at the hotel, soI tried the breakfast the next day and it was just as good. You cannot go wrong with the food at Walters. Read more
