Menu for Monadnock Inn in Jaffrey, NH

Exceeded my expectations. Honestly read reviews and had reservations or some sort of doubt about it .. So I arrived to an... authentic 1800's type structure, that had no ghosts, but plenty of character. My objective was to attempt to climb Mt. Monadnocknearby, which I was able to (95%). I didn't reach the summit, but was able to overcome some fears. Sorry, this is a review ofthe Inn and not myself. Not sure what 5 stars even means, but I rated it as such, for these reasons: It was clean in thebathrooms, the provided towls, blankets and different cloths were clean ( My girlfriend stressed of the importance of that, (sheeven brought ours from home just in case and did not use them) 5/5 The common room downstairs area by the fireplace made itfeel laid back, and comfortable to the point I chose a structured chair and not a rocking chair for safety reasons. Both wereavailable. The downstars is the heart and soul every Inn. This one had it and still does. 5/5 After the enjoyment of the heartand soul of the common area (downstairs) and the use the rest/bath room facilities. Its time to discuss the sleepingquarters.... The mattress in the room we booked was softer than the one I personally own at home. The pillows made me dream ofrunning a company or running for president. 5/5 On the technlogy side, ( WiFi). That worked as advertised. Actually worked moreconsistantly than my T moble iPhone 12 on the ride in. Basically if you go to the "woods" or "mountains" the signal is not asstrong as the city. I dreamed of fixing that on my luxurious pillow. Overall experirence and recommedations are 5/5 0r 10/10, Had doubts, no longer have them. Read more

I booked our stay online a few nights before going to hike Mt. Monadnock. I read the reviews the next day and got nervous and... almost walked away from it. I am more than glad that I didn't and also wonder what kind of people made those reviews. We havestayed at numerous motels/hotels while travelling throughout the years where we paid more than double the price of staying here.The Monadnock Inn was across the board my favorite out of all of them. I thought it was a very pleasant and the whole place wasquite lovely and adorable. We stayed in "Mitchell's Room" (which it states on the Website is the smallest room.) It was theperfect size for two people. The bed was very soft and comfortable along with the bedding which smelled and looked freshlylaundered. The shower/personal bathroom was directly across the hall, which I knew was not in the room ahead of time (I believethis is the only room that does not have a bathroom in the room), was also very clean and fully stocked with amenities. Thewater pressure and heating was impressive. The location was extremely convenient as a Golf Club with a restaurant and bar islocated two minutes away and is on your way out of Monadnock State Park. There is also a movie theater and a convenientstore/gas station as well as a variety of other specialty stores about a mile away in downtown Jaffrey. The stay was veryenjoyable. We booked this inn for 3 nights at full price because of the proximity to Mt Monadnock. It was advertised as a bed an breakfast... (NO the ad did not say that the restaurant was closed). We arrived at 7pm to an empty parking lot and no one to greet us. Ourkey was on a desk in a dimly lit front room, with instructions on how to get to our room. The room was OK but the bathroom wasvery dirty with hair on the floor. We went out to breakfast the next morning (a long drive, there isn' much in Jaffrey) and cameback to firetrucks out front and not allowed to enter the building. After standing out front for about 30 min, with no ownershowing up, we were allowed back in. On the second night, there was a woman at the little desk, my husband told her that ourroom had not been cleaned (dirty towels still on the floor) She argued with him about it and told him that the place is up forsale. She claimed not to be the owner but we think she was. If you like an old house that is deserted and dirty, with nobreakfast, then stay here. This place has so much potential, but the owner obviously doesn't care. The one plus is that it isclose to Mt Monadnock, which was an awesome hike!! Read more

If you like rustic charm this place is for you. From the rickety handrail coming in yo the rude hostess to the dirty rugs it... didn't offer much hope. Room door didn't lock, curtains torn, paint cracked and peeling. Not a good look. Cot to sleep on wasso thin I felt every spring. Oh. Kitchen has been closed since the pandemic hit.
