I only went there to place an order to go, wait for it to be cooked up and then left. It wasn't my first time eating food from... there but it won't be my last. The food is really good with the exception of steak. They can't seem to cook a decent steak orsomething like that, for some reason. Even though I wasn't dining in, the staff was very friendly and upbeat. It was our 1st experience eating at this establishment after hearing so many mixed reviews from neighbors, friends & riders. I... decided to try it for myself. It was terrible from every side being salty to the ribs having so much fat I could not enjoy them.Chopped beef was watered down & so was the pulled pork. The water made the bun so soggy I had to ask for another one. The saucescould use alittle improvement as well. Sweet tea was the best thing I had. Sorry nothing good but the toast. I deserve acomplete do over when I was even offered 10 nor 20% off my tab? Not cool, highly disappointed with management for this one.Dropped the ball in play. L.D. Read more
Had a long day at the hospital for my little, haven't been able to eat. Upon my drive back home out Jacksonville I ran thru here... and ordered to go. Price and food ratio is decent! Pork tastless without the sauce and fries weren't cooked long enough. Thecoleslaw was yellow! It wasn't very sweet kinda tasted somewhat old. Ribs were great! However, the older man in the back makingfood was eating the food with his gloves on. I wasn't too pleased to see that, but I had already ordered and went all morningand noon without eating ???? The restuarant is clean, the staff is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is comfortable .The food was hot when it arrived st... our table and cooked to order. The pork chop I had was not what I expected. It was small, boneless, dry and not seasoned. Iwas having breakfast with a friend. She had the French toast breakfast, which she said was good. I have been going here for over 30 years and today was my last. It used to be a friendly place with good food, nice, portions... and a fair price. It is still friendly, but everything thing else has changed. A drink is now $2.99. There is an up chargefor everything. They now charge extra for your hash browns and the portions are sad compared to what you used to get. Mysmoked sausage breakfast with a drink and a $4 tip was over $17. Seriously, $17 for a basic breakfast. Last time for me. Read more
Small little restaurant, very very busy. A lot of takeout. The waitress was very knowledgeable. The food was excellent and the... ribs very good and tender, the black-eyed peas had tenderness to him and very juicy. Nothing was dry. I had lima beans, thepulled pork really good.
