Love this place!!!!!!! Having dined here several times I must say that this place is some of the highest quality sushi in... Jacksonville. What they do for omakasi is amazing! The entire staff is great, however getting to interact with your chef as theyprepare an intimate dinner is almost beyond words. Best Japanese meal I?ve had on the East Coast. Treated with class from the minute you arrive. The wait staff are very friendly... and helpful and will take the time to explain everything to you. The superstar is the chef he?s been preparing Japanese food for25 years. He?s very personable and enjoys educating his patrons. You can really tell he loves what he does. Their food is delicious here, and the sake choices are fairly on point. I would say their service was Very slow, and we watched... others get their food and drink before us when they were sat and ordered after us. While it was a nice ambiance, I don't think Ineed to wait 30 minutes for 2 handrolls when the restaurant was less than half full. So if you come here, make sure you'reready to spend some time (and money) here, because their food is super delicious and they had good quality fish, but you have achance for Very slow service. First off I hardly ever write reviews - so for me to take the time to review a place means a lot. This whole experience was... AMAZING! I?m a chef that owns a restaurant as well and was totally blown away by the hospitality offered at the Norikasetasting. I brought my girlfriend for the Omakase and wasn?t too sure on what to expect - it?s a little hard to find but Ithoroughly loved that it felt a little ?underground?. Upon entrance the hostess let us know that the tasting ahead of us was alittle behind but the offered us a bottle of champagne while we waited. They also took a Polaroid of us to take home which wasreally sweet. The staff was amazing - Kate our server was on point all night and so hospitable. The chefs themselves(wish Icould remember their names)were seriously talented and loved talking food with me. The tasting itself got better and better withevery single course. I tried a couple things that I would probably never have the chance to try if I didn?t go here and Igenuinely appreciate that. My friend offer me this magical experience. I know this might not be the best Omakase in Florida but this one is really decent.... Each course is tasted better than the last one and full of surprises! Once you had this experience one time there is no goingback, I don?t want to have any other sushi at all! Came with my in-laws for the handroll/ skewers and had the absolute best time! As someone with food allergies (including soy and... tree nuts), the care servers take with orders really makes or breaks the overall experience...and Kristen and Justin totallyknocked it out of the park! They were meticulous about notifying me on which dishes were and weren't safe as we were bothordering and as they were being delivered to the table. The ambiance and menu were exceptional, definitely a NYC type ofJapanese/ sushi experience in JAX. The fish was of the highest quality, oysters were also delish.
