If you haven't had Jenkins BBQ u have no idea what ur missing! The only thing better than the food is the people that work at... the Southside location. I?ve been here a couple of times and it?s a hit or miss. Yesterday I visited I guess was an off day the chicken was so dry (I... guess if you don?t pay for extra they put the bare minimum on there) I almost choked and the fries where still frozen inside.And you can tell by the color of the fries that they weren?t fried maybe no more that 3 minutes. And Jenkins has a habit of notreally cooking their fries. I don?t know why when that?s the easiest thing in the world. The food is pricey so it?s reallymessed up when you don?t get what you paid for. Visited there based off reviews, the wait was long, It took 30 mins to serve 3 cars, the chicken was undercooked. The sides... were ok but bland, and the sauce was sloppy to where the bread was soggy & overloaded with mustard; it was all mustard with ahint of barbecue sauce. Read more
Wow!!! The pork and chicken are melt in your mouth. AND the coleslaw is some of the tastiest I have had I years. I know most... people judge a bbq restaurant by its ribs...but I judge it by the coleslaw! We will definitely be back!!! Love to Meltonia andher staff! Read more
It has been so long since I was able to get to Jacksonville and make a stop into Jenkins but it was well worth it. Will be back... again during EWC homecoming to get some ribs next. This time I got my favorite half chicken sandwich with a order of fries. Read more
Typically don?t review after 1 visit, but Jenkins earned those 5 stars! Kicking myself for missing out on this BBQ for so long.... Ordered the pulled pork sandwich, fries, and coleslaw. Other reviewers noted that the sauces are mustard-based so I knew Iwanted to try the sweet. The sauce is served on the sandwich AND the fries! That was a nice surprise. Everything wasscrumptious. Young lady at the counter was very friendly. Restaurant was pretty clean no complaints on the cleanliness. Food on the other... hand I ordered chicken they brought my food to the counter but it was saturated with sauce the chicken was In a pool of sauce. Itook food back to the counter they gave me some fresh food and I understand why they soaked it in sauce chicken was dry taste like it had been overbaked in an oven there was no smoke flavor no seasoning not very good barbecue if you ask me Read more
