Food was great. Service was friendly. We tried the Original Reuben sandwich on Rye and the bratwurst. Next time I'll order the... sandwich on pumpernickel. OctoberFest beer with happy hour, and a large slice of carrot cake. Someone next to us had cheesecakewith cherry topping and didn't finish it, left it on the table (so sad!). I may order it next time. And a salad too; the menu isextensive! Read more

Date 8/28/22 Time of Dine in 8:14pm I?m giving this Café 3 Star?s simply because it is clean and the customer service is... fairly good. I read the reviews which is why I chose to take my fiancé here. I?ve never questioned the quality of so manypeoples palate?s until now. The French Dip wasn?t impressive by any stretch, my taste buds weren?t dancing, my mouth wasn?tradiating with joy and that?s what I expect from everything I eat, at every place I pay to eat or else why would I pay? If I?mcapable of producing a mouth watering, savory French Dip at home versus what a restaurant sells, it eliminates the desire to eatat that restaurant. The bread on the French Dip wasn?t toasted, The Roast Beef didn?t have any seasoning or flavor nor was itcooked it was all cold. I?ve never eaten a French Dip that was cold and bland like that. Everything was mediocre with theexception of the staff, the waitress was super sweet and kind, the cashier courteous welcoming and kind. If I was the owner, Iwould make some changes to how you prepare the French Dip, that?s the only thing I can give my opinion on because that was theonly real disappointment. Would I return? Maybe if I was limited on options and I wanted to grab a drink, I would maybe be ableto work up the bravery to explore another dish however one dish from a restaurant or cafe reflects all other food options on itsmenu. I apologize if this offends anyone, I just want to give my most authentic perspective and give my most honest experience. Read more

We stopped for dessert and hot tea. We walked in, and found a wonderful warm atmosphere. The most beautiful dessert case... ....enormous! Friendly staff. The menu is quite varied, I can't wait to try some savory dishes. Tonight we got the GrannySmith apple pie, Italian lemon cream cake, and a German chocolate cookie. VERY very good! We will definitely come back on ournext trip! Read more

This place is an experience you must have! It started when we?re driving by, and we could smell the fabulous bread smell half a... mile down the road. We ran our errand, and then quickly headed back to eat here. It just smelled SO GOOD. Our waiter tonightwas John C, and he was lovely. Fabulous attitude & funny guy. He gave us excellent customer service, even though the place waspacked for their 2 for 1 happy hour. All the staff actually seemed to be working their butts off & paying attention to thedetails. After I ordered a vegetarian sandwich with a German potato salad, Desiree came out of the back to confirm? turns outthe German potato salad I had read so much about (on the reviews) actually has bacon! So I switched that out for the Americaninstead (which is vegetarian). She also went out of her way to find us a stray Carrot Cake cookie, since they appeared to beout, and my partner loves Carrot Cake and is allergic to nuts? so he can?t have the real thing. Everything we ate waswonderful. I was especially surprised by the Athena?s Gift sandwich. It?s a gluten-free, raw vegan sausage with cashew cheese. Ididn?t expect a fake-sausage to be cold, but other than that I loved it. The seed bread was impressive too? normally that kindof thing tastes or feels like cardboard, but it was soft & delicious! In addition to the case of fresh desserts, they also havelots of retro candy! I was thinking of stocking-stuffers when we bought our Grateful Dead bar. They also have PEZ dispensers (isthat showing my age?), Bottle Caps, Oreo Candy Canes, etc. For dessert I had an Italian Lemon Crème cake & the Vegan MochaLove. The Lemon Crème was fluffier than it looked? like angel food cake and lemon cheesecake. The Vegan Mocha had coconut, which was unexpected, and had a nice coffee-like chocolate flavor. So many fun details here. Each table has a different countrymap on it & they have an old-style airport flip board that displays different quotes. We thoroughly enjoyed Read more

What a big menu! If you're tired of the packed breakfast/ lunch places at 10/11am try out ESC. You'll never make it through the... menu... Never! The dessert counter is a beast, the beer wall a whole other beast! Read more
