Nice looking restaurant. My photos show a cross section of a handmade garlic parmesan cheese pretzel, or as most people would... call it a piece of bread crust with garlic butter on it...so disappointed. Make sure is you orfer the Buffalo chicken pizza askthem to hold the carrots, yes I said ????. The pizza is pretty thin, decent taste. It was pretty dead inside and for a $24 16"pizza I can see why. Disappointed. Ordered two personal pan pizzas and cheese bread. It took an hour to deliver 5 minutes down the street. We were... told in advance so that would have be fine except everything thing but the marinara sauce was ice cold. Not sure how somethingthat is scooped from a warmer is hotter than something that is supposed to be freshly cooked. I don't recommend orderingdelivery. Great pizza and food in general. Friendly staff and they seem to be able to function in this time of low staffing levels?which... is impressive. They used to have another location in St Augustine but it closed. For appetizers I recommend the toastedraviolis. For the main I?d build my own pizza?they have quality ingredients that taste fresh and so not get too oily. Read more
Ive been here a couple of times for lunch mostly pizza or calzone to go orders. This time for lunch I decided to Dine in and get... the Chicken Caesar Wrap. It was really good and I also like that it was toasted and slightly pressed like a panini. I do want totry a few entrees on the menu so of course I'll be back. The waiters are very kind and friendly. This is a great place for a lunch special. For 10$ you basically get a 3 course meal until 4PM. The staff is super friendly and... the location is convenient. If I wanted a reliable meal and was in the area I would come back here again. You can bring thewhole family here but I wouldn't bring a date here. Enjoy! Read more
We were looking for a place get some Chicken Caesar wraps and decided to stop in and try Al's Pizza. We were not expecting... Panini like wraps but it worked well. We enjoyed the taste and the food came out quick and hot. The Garlic bread was fairlybasic. Melted cheese on ciabatta style bread with maybe some oregano. No taste of garlic at all. Marinara was really good.Meatballs were piping hot and excellent. Price was a little high, but not really an issue. We will be back to try more dishes. Read more
It appears that the ongoing Pizza wars are shifting from price value to quality. If this is the case, then Al's Pizza will come... out of this as a winner. I can't think of another Pizza location in the greater Jacksonville area that does as good as a jobwith quality Pizza, ingredients and underlying price as this restaraunt does. This is in addition to the other fine Italianinspired dishes that they serve such as stuffed ravioli marinara and ???? parmesan, amongst others. They also have a small barwhich I think brings a bistro feel into this establishment which was started in 1988. It's clearly a clean, well maintained andlighted facility with plenty of safe parking. Very good for nightime pizza runs. Staff very helpful and they'll tell you whenyour order will be ready. And it will be awesome. ???? Read more
