The food was great, it was plenty and for a good price. The waiters were also really nice. It is kind of in an industrial area... but don't let the outside look fool you - it is very nicely decorated on the inside! Would highly recommend this place if youare in Jackson, MS! Read more
Returned to Hal & Mal's after years away and it has maintained its loose, friendly atmosphere. The live music was the best thing... happening there on the night we went and the Dixieland Band was quite good, it stayed away from Stephen Foster and played moremodern selections. The food was good as usual, fresh and tasty gumbo, po boys were pretty average, they're coasting onreputation there. The drink selections were fine, it was a relaxed and fairly inexpensive night out. A lot of value here and asafe bet for sure. We'll be back next time we're in town. Read more

Hey All Our friends had a wonderful time at Hal and Mal's My Wife's Nephew graduated so our family came to Hal and Mal's ... and wow the meal was awesome from the chicken wings and mac and cheese balls and wonderful tomales and empanadas chicken strips crawfish dip and great sweet like churro rolls with fresh made whip cream A Thanks to our Host . Server was really friendly. Menu was a little unclear, but the food was great. Pretty solid beer selection, but mostly... cans/bottles. It was pretty empty while we were there for a late lunch, but I imagine it gets hopping for dinner and drinkslater. Read more
Food was amazing, live music was excellent and then staff was awesome. Chris was an excellent server and had a great attitude... and work ethic with our large group. Huge thank you for the great experience and food. If we are ever in the area again, we willbe returning for sure. Highly recommend. The gumbo was fantastic, and make sure to try the catfish nuggets!
