Meh... First visit after a fair amount of hype. Went in for takeout. Asked twice at the register for my Italian wrap to be cold... - was even printed on the ticket - was still warm. Asked for a tomato wrap, got plain - was very chewy and slimy from the greasefrom heating the sandwich. Hubs got a Yankee, ironically a heated sandwich - grilled, we thought - was barely warm in themiddle. Bread was doughy, not crunchy like you'd expect from being grilled and tasted like whole wheat, definitely not rye. Nomustard, mayo or anything either. No choice of chips, just a bag of plain salted. Seeing Hormel products in the meat cooler outfront didn't impress either. $30 lunch that was just all around disappointing. Maybe they do better, today was just not the day. Read more
Place almost empty. People that came in after us got their orders before we did. I mean, how long should a Reuben sandwich take?... 10 minutes, maybe? 40 minutes later, we finally got it. East Bay Deli is great. This one makes you wonder. Read more
The salad bar is not self serve. You have to have an employee walk with you to make your salad at the salad bar. Response to... the reply: If its about cleanliness- With the time the salad preparer spends making salads for others he or she could clean asneeded. If it's about customer preference- Give the customer the option on making their own or having it prepared by yourstaff. If it's about involvement with the customer - Look into why this was an improvement in connecting and implement it withevery paying customer. If it happens to be about portion control or profit- raise the cost of the salad bar. Read more
Problem with this place is they do not allow you to get your salad at the salad bar. An employee puts the salad in your dish and... you tell tell him what you want. So 2 people at the salad bar instead of one. Does not make sense. Read more
