My husband & I were looking for a burger place after completing a hike on Upper Palisades Creek Trail and this place looked like... it would fit the bill. I looked at the menu on the website & immediately gave directions to hubby for how to getthere. Unfortunately, right after being seated we both noticed the menu was vastly different from the one on the website. I wasa little concerned, but there was still a cheeseburger on the menu so that?s what both of us ordered. We got the DamCheeseburger. Within the FIRST BITE I was so happy we were there. The burger was SO GOOD (and I am pretty picky)! I could tellit was high quality beef, and the pickles on the burger were homemade?and delicious. The burger came with a side of fries, whichdid not disappoint. They were fresh & perfectly cooked. We ordered the Crab Tots appetizer to share, and it was good but notnecessarily brag-worthy. For dessert we shared the Smoked Peach Cobbler a la Mode. It was AWESOME! Hubby laughed at me & said,?it must be good because you?re really digging in!? And then he tasted it & realized why I was digging in with such gusto. I?manxiously looking forward to our next visit to the area so I can try their BBQ platter & a Brownie a la Mode for dessert. Can?twait! The staff was great. Very attentive, friendly, and informative. Staff was very attentive, prompt on food delivery. Wife & I had crab tots for an appetizer, they were a little spicy. Wife & I... both ordered the Dam Cheeseburger. The beef in the cheeseburger you could tell was from a grass fed farm, which when asked itcomes from a farm in Boise Idaho. Fries were thin cut but cooked perfect. The only complaint was their online menu was wrong. When asked there was a reason which for now is out of the restaurant?s control. We order the peach cobbler also. Read more

We weren't sure about eating here at first, but SO glad we did! From the outside, it doesn't look like it would be much, but the... food was fabulous! They were pretty busy and short staffed, but our food was brought out quickly, we were given large portions,and every item we ordered was great! Had wings for app, two flavors Thai and Garlic Parm, tasted great, ordered duck, cooked to perfection,... great flavor and bbq combo, plate loaded up with pulled pork and brisket, heart flavor as well. We ate here twice in the week we were camping at The Park at Swan Valley (also amazing). From the BBQ chicken, pork and brisket... to the potato salad, beans, cheeseburger and flank steak w/mashed potatoes and gravy, everything was ah-making! HIGHLYrecommend. Read more

Overpriced and not great food. The coconut shrimp were great as an appetizer, but it all went down hill from there. Hubby... ordered the bbq combo and I the salmon. The bbq was over cooked and dried out and just smelled awful. The salmon wasn?t cookedthoroughly and equally smelled horrendous. The rice under was dried out. My meal came with a salad and I never received, insteadI received a side of veggies that appeared to be sprouts and onions. After a couple bites, I realized it also had bacon mixedin. I do not eat pork so was horribly disappointed and aggravated that wasn?t in the menu description. Giving 2 stars, becausethe employees were friendly. Nice staff just needs better food. Please make sure you are cooking your fish to temp. You shouldnot be able to cut into a $26 piece of salmon and see a ring of rawness in the center. GO TO THE LITTLE MOOSE! Stop thinking about it, and go. The food is magnificent, the service is exactly on point, and the... ambiance is perfect for the setting. This is the restaurant you wish every other roadside restaurant was like. It's not fancy,there is no pretense, no affectation, it's just excellent cooking, and caring service. Everything is scratch made, the meats arecooked over wood, the sauces and pickles are made in house, the preparations are skillful and creative, the beer selections areall relevant... everything is just right. I had a barbecue platter with ribs, brisket, barbecue beans, and slaw, and everyelement was exactly what you would want it to be. My wife had a burger, and the attention to detail was exceptional. And did Imention it's all cooked over wood! So GOOD! I have little reason to ever go back to Swan Valley, but I may just make one up,just so I can go here again!
