Reviews for Pista House in Irving, TX

Biryani quality is average to slightly above average. The place is more of a takeout joint than a sit down restaurant, though... there are a couple of tables for that. But don't expect any great table service, cleaning etc. Prices are a bit on the higherside, and that would have been ok if the quality had lived up to what one would expect from the original Pista House. But thenthe original in India too has seen quality erosion over the years and is a pale shadow of its earlier self. Read more

The food taste here is the WORST! I never had a such kind of ?apollo fish? its like CURRY sauce poured on deep fried fish (and... its a must try item on their menu) and then I ordered ?vijayawada boneless chicken biryani??it is more of a boneless chickenfried rice with PATHETIC FLAVOR! and it didn?t taste like biryani in any aspect the gravy they provide for biryani is literallyjust WATER like consistency. I would never recommend anyone this place such a slow service and poor ambience. Read more

I have been here a few times with family. I would give this place a 1 1/2 if I could. Service is quite slow, not the worst but... definitely below average. Atmosphere is also below average, its hot, the music is loud and lewd for a family setting, and thetables are dirty. It also doesn?t help that things are served on paper plates and deli containers. The food here isridiculously overpriced, especially for the serving size. Any curries have very little meat. Most dishes are very onedimensional and don?t have depth of flavor as authentic Indian food is supposed to have. If one is willing to charge a highprice, it is expected that the dishes must be elevated to that match price. I feel cheated when I eat here. On a more positivenote, the waiter was nice, and the Apollo Fish was tasty (still overpriced for the portion) All in all I would not recommendthis place nor would I personally want to eat here again. We ordered biryani which is no where close to Biryani. They recommend chicken dum curry and it tasted like some lotion. I... ordered butter naan. It?s just naan there?s no butter it was soggy and dry. Haleem is disheartening. Taste average and justlook at the presentation. I paid $13 for Haleem. Thanks will never recommend or come back here. Sitafal (sugar apple lassi) tasted extraordinary. Tried Haleem for the first time in my life, it a was worse. On top, there was... a beat in it. I just gave them back the haleem. Chicken Briyani was also very average. Would give 0 for ambiance and space. Justone Briyani was $18.99, not worth the money. Read more

To be completely honest, if the name of the restaurant had not been Pista house, it would have closed long ago. The biryani they... make in the Dallas area for South Indian food is, in my opinion, the worst. I ordered a Vijayawada Special chicken biryani, butinstead I received a boneless chicken biryani with a complete tray of chicken pieces. I requested that they check the orderbefore bringing it to me after complaining that they had given me the same incorrect order the previous time. However, theyrepeated it again. The problem is that nobody seems to care about the reviews/feedback for the orders they are fulfilling. Read more

I ordered apollo fish for a to go only to find out that the fish was too oily, the onions and bell peppers are raw which are not... even cut properly. The fish?s seasoning was so bad, only to feel the taste of oil. There is absolutely no quality. Such a poorcooking and taste from a reputed franchise like this. Read more

I hate this place, came to this place more than 3 times but things never changed. I have ordered 4 appetizers at 9:06 pm and... waited for 30 minutes and asked at front desk and she said it's getting ready, second time to the front desk after 55 minutesshe checked and said that she didn't printed my order(but when she gave me a token, the token is written as reprinted). She liedto us. Again she said "we are working on your order". 3rd time 10:55 pm to the front desk she said "our chef just received yourorder" is it a right way to treat a customer? I'm seeing those two girls since an year with the same attitude(very rude andirresponsible). and one more thing I tried to place an order on phone, she answered the call and while I'm placing the ordershe's playing game in her phone asked me to repeat the order for couple of times. Finally They will never clear the trash. Read more
