Reviews for Puesto Mexican Artisan Kitchen & Bar in Irvine, CA
Needs more vegan options. Kind of expensive. However if you're looking for a bar that has a lot of cool drinks then this is your... spot in that case this is probably a four star. The food was well enjoyed by my colleagues who were not veg so that's probably afour star for you as well. But it was like 10 bucks for one small taco and you need to have at least three which makes that dishabout $30. Seems excessive to me. Now on to my food I actually enjoyed the salad that I had which was about the only veganoption I think I could find. Also I was going to eat the chips and salsa but I decided to hold and it was a good thing becausethey brought out fried pork rinds and other fried foods which I'm sure are going into the same oil and would have grossed meout. Late review. Came here some time ago and had an ok experience what I didn’t like is were they seated us. It was definitely not... the most ideal spot in the restaurant. It was in the back way too close to the waiter area. The tacos weren’t anything to raveabout they were interested. The drinks weren’t as memorable either. The spot looks great but other than appearance the foodand drinks weren’t anything to rave about at this location I had a much better experience at the one in Anaheim. Read more
The tacos were amazing! They have really leveled up their taco game on every level. I love the use of their in house, hand made,... blue corn tortilla for both the taste and uniqueness. Tacos aren’t the only thing we had and loved. Their ceviche was amazingand let’s not forget the drink. Highly recommended for a great lunch or dinner. Read more
The tacos were great. The place was packed. The service was friendly and they did a great job for the workload they had. Our... table was close to the door and we had a lot of people passing extremely close to us. Missing a start because they are veryexpensive for tacos. Read more
It’s… good. Very swanky. The food was tasty and the ambiance was very nice. I love the little shrine to tequila with the... vertical conveyor belt system behind the bar, that made me laugh. The service was very slow, however. It’s great for anupscale date night out but otherwise I don’t think it’s a good value. Read more
I felt that the food was not worth the price. Although it was good quality, unique and served in an artist manner, I have had... better tasting food for less money. Personally I think almost everything on the menu had an excessive amount of onion which Iwas told is already pre-mixed in (so it’s not made fresh). I think the experience is more about the design and unique flavors. It’s certainly not authentic Mexican style food. I know this isn’t the case but to me, the shrimp tacos tasted like they hadput barbecue sauce on them. I will say that their drinks tasted amazing, still slightly over priced, but great! The service wasstandard, nothing bad but also nothing above and beyond. Read more
Went here for dinner over the weekend. While we have been doing o the other location, we decided to try this one out and it... turned out to be an excellent choice. We parked across the street in the parking structure - wasn’t too bad finding a spot, just the usual weekend dinner time crowd!! Walked across and we’re greeted and seated reasonably quickly - we did have areservation, so that definitely helped and is recommended for the weekends as the place was pretty full. They do Tequila andMescal flights but we chose to go with the Margaritas. The all seemed very interesting and we got the ones where you can pickthe level of spicy, so we got the Bartenders Choice and the Hot Sauce. They were very good. The food in general was excellent. The warm blue corn tortillas, the chef’s salsa bar (great variety of salsas!), and everything else. Highly recommended forgood food, great drinks in a good environment. Read more
It's just okay Americanize Mexican food. The food is okay but it's pricey which makes me give a 3 stars. Each ???? taco is about... $10 so if you usually eat 3 or 4 taco it gets pricey. Add it with drinks and starters, our average came out to over $50 perperson. Read more
