The most austenitic British chippy you can find in southern California! This place reminds me of the fish and chips in Whitby.... The fish is a whole big fish fillet taste very juicy and tasty. The batter is crisp, crunchy, and golden with no hollow gaps/airpockets. The owner has perfected his batter. The chips are proper chunky, not American fries. This place is a cure for UK homesickness. This restaurant is next to the bar and is owned by the same owner. And they do such a great job with both the restaurant and the... bar. I love there steak cut fries, and actually that\'s all I\'ve ever ordered but I think I\'ve ordered them maybe 15 times nowas I go there often. I was so excited to try London Chippy, it\'s been a long time since I\'ve had fish and chips. This place didn\'t disappoint! I... tried the fried cod, chips, and onion rings. Everything was delicious, but next time I\'ll skip the onion rings and get morechips. The pepper and other seasoning on the chips made them really, really good. Authentic... I don\'t think so!\n\nAs a Brit that\'s lived here 8 years I can honestly say the only food I miss from home that... you can\'t get here is fish and chips.\n\nSo we\'re always excited to try a new place, or should that be plaice?\n\nThe fish wasok although shaped like long sausage shapes rather than flat fillets. The tartare was ok.\n\nBut the chips were garbage. Theyare frozen steak fries. Americans seem to think that anything fatter than a McDonald\'s fry is a British chip. But it\'s justnot so. Proper chips are made from fresh potatoes that are twice fried.\n\nMy wife sent hers back and they made more. But theywere no better and covered in garlic!\n\nWe make better homemade chips at home.
