If you like burnt, blackened pizza bottom this is the place. Plus the ability to mess up a combination pizza this is the place.

First visit to this place. I had their "Special", which consisted of 2 slices of either Cheese or Pepperoni pizza (I selected... Pepperoni), and a drink of your choice (I selected a can of Sprite). The pizza was NOT at all tasty. I don't recommend thisplace. The total with tax was just under $10. Read more

Update: About five months ago, ordered pizza from there as I have been doing for nine years, and sadly it was AWFUL. Called... them to let them know my disappointment, was told new person was now making the pizza there. It was just terrible, like eatingcardboard, no flavor at all and scarcely any toppings as well. Have not been back since. At one time it was my favorite pizzain OC. Johnny's pizza at Quail Plaza, Irvine location is the best pizza we've ever had in California! We're from NY and thisbeats all other pizzerias. They never fail to make a perfect pizza. We've tried them all and no one can top Johnny's at QuailPlaza. Five stars all the way! Read more

You?re reading this because you?re asking yourself exactly how New York is Johnny?s Real New York Pizza. Truthfully, it?s... pizza. How can you possibly mess that up? It?s got quite an extensive menu but I came here to try a couple slices out so Iordered one pepperoni and one pepperoni with mushrooms added on. Each slice was $3.75 plus the extra $1 charge for themushrooms. Like others have stated, I was a bit disappointed that they just had pizzas laying out under a heat lamp instead ofputting it back in the oven for it to be nice and crispy again. However, since I did order one of them with mushrooms they putthat in the oven to heat up and it came out perfectly. I consider a good NY slice to be big, toasty, foldable, and cheesy. Theseslices definitely hit the mark so I?m giving them a good rating simply because of that. Is it cheaper than most otherlocations? No, but you?re supporting a local business and not a commercial chain. I think it?s actually family owned andtruthfully if they just reheated the pizzas they?d probably get better ratings. The pizza is promising and worth giving a firstchance! Read more

I always have my doubts when I see places labeled as NY pizza. I lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn growing up, the Mecca of real... pizza. This might just be the finest version of pizza I've had in CA. This truly was an excellent example of NY pizza. Thecrust was thin and crisp. The sauce was just enough. The cheese was perfect. I had pepperoni on one half, hand made Italiansliced meatball on the other. Garlic knots were bite sized for more flavor for the surface area. Garlic fries were amazingwith marinara sauce on the side. I really couldn't have been more impressed with this unassuming and dare I say sterile lookingshop. Bravo. Will return Everytime I'm in the area. Read more
