My husband and I, at the last minute on a Thursday evening decided we were really hungry for some American/English comfort food.... We headed to Gulliver's across the street from John Wayne Airport in Orange County. We had been here at Christmas of last yearand also a family Thanksgiving a few years ago. Ya know, they are the quintessential, Old World, British inspired decor, overthe top, decorations and memorabilia, one of the last standing of it's kind. I so appreciate that they are still operating andin business. The food doesn't disappoint, from the Prime Rib and steak entrees to the fish and chicken entrees and the "sides",especially the creamed corn, but all the dishes were like homemade. Fresh Broccoli, green beans, mashed and stuffed twice bakedpotatoes and of course the bread! We had a cozy cocktail, the Old Fashion is so delicious and comforting and our dinner servicewas perfection. Of course, we took home mounds of leftovers and had everything again on Friday evening at home! Our bill wasunder $200.00 and although that is $$$, it is worth the ambience, comfort, nostalgia and fulfilling fare in which we lavishedourselves! The cool thing is we didn't need reservations as we dropped in at 5:30 pm on a week night. Read more

Ordered a Gulliver lunch cut for 31 dollars and a truffle creamed corn for 15 dollars before tax. The prime rib’s doneness was... great, medium rare to medium. The gravy went well with the beef. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Read more

Fun atmosphere! Food was great! Prime rib was excellent as well as the filet. Bar was really cool and was surprised to see it... empty on a Saturday night. Some live music like a mandolin player would really top it off. Read more

Very great .. GREAT RARE food... a must have. I can say I instantly got impressed by this food. Had the duck dinner, came with... sides, potatoes, and cabbage, didn't expect much from bar ???? side menú, but low n behold,... a TRUE dinner. Very satisfyingand a secret recipe with the duck, a must have. Try it if you appreciate a real complex dinner. This is it. On my top 3 listnow. ??. Very UNDER rated place... owners... please don't change,... ???? keep it as is. Love it! Best happy hour as is in2022'. Drinks were top notch. I could of spent less, yet wife n I got slightly excited to take some home. Read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant. With such a long and stellar reputation, of course I expected much. That coupled with the... price makes this a bit disappointing. The bright parts of the evening start the decor and staff. Though not on the level ofother restaurants I have reviewed they put in the effort. Also, the prime rib, what this restaurant is built it's reputationon, was excellent. Well prepared, flavorful and just good. The creamed corn, good and the 007 martini was as well, but dependson the bartender. The down side, was the duck: a bit dry. The dessert: limited and not endulgent as it should be. Service:trying but not performing. At these prices, asking for anything is a slip, having to box your leftovers and not checking on youenough all add to less then stellar service. Still, try the prime rib with creamed corn. That is a meal well worth the price. Read more

We came here to celebrate the Christmas season with our family. It's on the pricey side, but worth it. It was decorated so... pretty for Christmas. It was very busy. Service was very good. Food turned out good for being so busy. They had baskets ofwarm, sourdough bread and seasoned flat breads after we sat down. I had the traditional cut of prime rib. It was thinly cut,and it was very tender and juicy. It came with creamed spinach (not my thing) creamed corn (delicious!) And Yorkshire pudding(decent). It was a very enjoyable experience. The crowd is on the older side, but a nice crowd and I recommend you try it oncein your life. Read more

Visited on a Halloween weekend with a friend. I ordered the Prime Rib Bones with a glass of red wine and she had the King Salmon... entree and a glass of White Zin. We both enjoyed our meals but she more so than myself. The bones were not very meaty and waskind of disappointed about that. We shared a bowl of the creamed corn. The service was good and attentive. The total tab withtax and tip was $88. Read more

Honestly, I was super disappointed with this place. I was really looking forward to trying it for about a week prior to my... visit. Arrived and the place was dead on a Saturday night. That should have been my clue but we gave it a fair chance. I lovefood and rarely is anything left on my plate. I got the prime rib bones, and they were just unpalatable. The poorly aged, damnnear rotten meat had what seemed to be a lazy attempt at homemade bbq sauce, but it was basically ketchup watered with a splashof vinegar. Service was terrible, as we never received our second round of drinks. Had to go to the bar to get my check, becauseour server never returned.....ever. Poor food, poor service, and way overpriced unfortunately. Read more
