Genuinely the best meal I?ve ever had. The genius that thought of the kimchi apple salad with bacon needs an award. The flavors... on the menu are put together so well. Swordfish and the roasted chicken were amazing. Wine was great. Waitstaff did a great job.I?m still thinking about the off-the-menu apple crisp. If there?s anything on the menu that makes you think ?I don?t know ifI?ll like that?, get it. You will. We will be back for that prime rib? Read more

Attentive service and out-of-this-world flavor. The prime rib was buttery and had the most delectable crust. The wings were... unique and addictive and the tartare was light, slightly sweet, and smokey. Couldn't have asked for anything to be better. Read more

Absolutely phenomenal. There wasn?t a single dish I didn?t love. Biscuits? I make a lot of biscuits from scratch and have gone... to multiple restaurants that pride themselves on their biscuits and the ones at Webster were the best I ever remember having. The perfect crunch on the outside and tenderness in the middle. Soft and light and full of wonderful flavor and the rhubarb jamwas heavenly. Not too sweet. Tartare?I?ve never had tartare before and I wasn?t sure what I would think of raw meat on bread. But we followed the advice of our lovely waitress who said that that The Webster was a really good place for trying a dish liketartare for the first time and she was spot on. It was like nothing I had ever had before, it was packed with all sorts ofperfectly complementing flavors and it was delicious. This was my husband?s favorite dish. Bucatini?incredible flavored saucewith tender shrimp! I loved the pieces of bacon in the red sauce. Scallops?we chose this dish based on our waitress?srecommendation and it did not disappoint. The scallops were so tender and delicious, seared to flavorful perfection. And thesauce! Oh my gosh, that sauce was to die for, I?ve never had a sauce like it before. And the smoked potato on top was incrediblyunique and added the most lovely flavor without any heaviness. The peas were the perfect thing to pair it all with. This was myfavorite dish. Lemon curd?Perfectly tart and sweet and made to a perfect consistency. Huge portion! Blueberry shortcake?theshortcake was like shortbread cookies, which we really enjoyed! The blueberry sauce was sweet and tart and the Michiganblueberries were flavorful. Just the right proportions of whipped cream, blueberry sauce and shortbread cookies. We loved eatingthis with the lemon curd pie, they complemented each other beautifully. One of the most delicious restaurants I?ve ever been toand the perfect place to try dishes you?ve never experienced before. Our waitress was a gem and the atmosphe Read more

Food is overpriced. A tiny glass of nonalcoholic sugar water drink costs $7. You'd think you paid for the service too. However... we waited for 20 minutes to get a waiter to bring us a menu. And then, it took them more than half an hour to put six warm saltyoysters on the table. It's just ridiculous. You can get much better food and service for a decent price from other restaurantsin this area. Overall, it was a bad experience. Read more

I love that we have this gem in Iowa City. This is high quality food, in a setting that feels like you?re in Chicago. This is a... great place to go for date night, or a special occasion. Come hungry, because you will want to try several dishes. Thebuttermilk biscuits were hands down the best biscuits I?ve ever had. The Chicory salad was fantastic. All 4 dishes we orderedwere flavorful, and just plain delicious. Service was great! Read more

The Webster is an incredible spot. Unique to Iowa City but even more unique to Iowa. If you're looking for a place for an... elevated dining experience, look no further. The menu is constantly changing, every time we have visited there have beenofferings as well as twists on past favorites. The food they offer pushes the envelope for what has become normal to offer inthe area. And they do it delightfully, it's been fun to revisit each time just to see what new surprises are on the menu. Iwould highly recommend this place for any special occasion, celebration, date or just as an opportunity to challenge yourpalate. They offer a good array of wine to pair with any meal and are constantly offering new specials. The photos are fromtheir recent Ramen popup. And even though the place has a high class vibe and interesting things on the menu I've found thestaff to be incredibly helpful and willing to explain any items or answer questions. Go. Go now and enjoy yourself it's a placeworth experiencing. Read more
