update October 2022... Great rueben samdwich. Almost always try to get Shapiros each time at Indy airport. Went for brunch. ... By lunctime the line was about ten people deep. original: Family split 2 corned beef sandwiches on rye bread. As good asdowntown location's. The right mustard, tender flavorful sliced stacked high corned beef, and that bread with the yummy chewycrust and soft center. A great way to start a trip! If you like Shapiro's, this is a slice of their fare. Shapiro's is THEGOLD STANDARD for corned beef sandwiches - if you buy a whole be prepared to eat half now and the other later, it is sooo thickyou can barely fit your lips around a bite. Every time we go through the Indy Airport, this is tops on our list. Oh, and todaythe servers seemed genuinely polite and friendly which you don't always expect with airport restaurants. Perhaps the worst deli sandwich I have ever eaten. Got a NY Reuben. I couldn?t bite through the sandwich. Everything wanted to... come out all at once because it was bound together by fat and nerve.
