I meet a friend at AJs a couple of times a month. The food is good, not great. Sometime I feel really welcomed other times not... so much. The handheld POS tech has made ordering food and paying a lot easier. Read more

I usually don’t leave reviews, however, after my recent experience, I thought I share.. Against our better judgement, my... husband and I decided to go to AJ’s for dinner (first mistake). We sat at the bar, and after waiting 10 minutes or so, thebartender finally took our order. I ordered salad with chicken, the hubby ordered roast beef (second mistake). Upon receivingour order, the salad itself was quite good, too bad I can’t say the same for the chicken. Let’s say I would have had betterluck at sinking my teeth in a semi tire versus the chicken. The waitress NEVER came to check on us. I tried to make eye contactas she walked past us to check on other patrons. After picking at our food. My husband asked the bartender for our bill. Aftershe caucus with the customers, she finically came over so we can settle the check. I politely informed her that it would beennice for her to check on us and I provided feedback in the salad. Based on the poor service and tough chicken, I wouldrecommend this place to my dog. Spend your money at places that make you feel invited. Read more

First time here and the food was really good, Their serving size is just perfect. The Cuban sliders and mustard is really good!... Drinks are pricey though, Tito's mule was $9.38 and a well whiskey sour was $8.69. Not sure if that's the norm but this probwon't be a place we just come to for JUST drinks unfortunately. Read more

We are fortunate on the northeast side to have a plethora of great restaurants and watering holes to choose from. Aj’s is... among our favorites as it delivers solidly good food accompanied by friendly, efficient service. The owners are often on site, are very approachable and consistently check in with customers. Read more

From the... perfect head of foam on the Guiness to the great service it was a very nice dining experience. The fish was just right and thefries are great too. Try the fried green beans! You'll be glad you did. ( update: Back again on friday night for the fish andchips. They are so good that I can't wait to try other items on the menu. ) Read more

We recently had dinner at AJ'S. We started off our dinner with the Grilled Cheeses Wedges. The Grilled Cheeses Wedges were good... but could use a bit more cheese for it to have that true grilled cheese taste. The tomato bisque dipping sauce had aninterestingly warm mouth feel to it. The Chef Paul Prudhomme's Cajun Meatloaf was the perfect comfort meal. The meatloaf had agood spicy flavor that was a great flavor balance for the meal. Meaty, comforting and very warm from the spices. The Fried GreenBeans were extremely addictive. Perfectly cooked and crunchy, and tasted even better when dipped in the homemade ranch sauce. The mashed potatoes were creamy and a bit chunky, and tasted very good with the gravy. My son loved his Chicken & Cheese Tacos. Before we knew it he had finished all three. My wife liked the Pittsburgh Style Ribeye Steak, but found it to have far too muchfat. A bit surprised that for the price that the additional fat on the outside of the steak wasn't trimmed enough prior tocooking it. My wife loved the flavors from the herbs and brown butter sauce. The Grilled Asparagus was surprisingly tender forthe size, and had a good amount of spices and flavor. Also, the Garlic Mashed Potatoes were delicious. For dessert I enjoyed thewarm, spiced flavorful Apple Crisp that was chock full of apples. I liked that it was more apples than the granola, and becauseof that a great balance between the two. The ice cream was a great way to cool off the hot apple crisp and add a level ofcreaminess to the dessert. My son and wife enjoyed Cheesecake for dessert. My wife enjoyed the Raspberry Cheesecake while my sonenjoyed the Turtle Cheesecake. They loved the creamy and richness of the Cheesecake. We have ordered takeout, and eaten in therestaurant. Either way the food is delicious, and served by a very friendly staff. As much as we enjoy the lunch and dinneroptions from time to time we enjoy brunch here too. Worth the visit if you are in the area (or not). Read more
