Despite some peoples comical poetic one star reviews, this place is good. Quality food at a good price.

I realize that not everyone enjoys the distinctive taste of old chicken. And the $13.95 that India Grill charged us for the four... rancid-tasting chicken drumsticks that comprised our tandoori chicken order might not seem like a good deal to all, particularlythose shallow souls who judge food merely for how it tastes rather than what it MEANS. And, yes, there are those how might takeissue with tandoori chicken being seemingly marinated briefly with an instant package paste rather than steeped for a longerperiod and cooked properly. That?s all perfectly fine. Such a diversity of viewpoints is key to a democratic society. But, asfor myself and my family (well, myself, since my wife and daughter spat their food out and opted for sandwiches), I appreciatedIndia Grill?s culinary meditation on mortality, passing itself off as mere chicken tandoori, more than I can say. The entrée?scourage in flagrantly parading the chicken?s rot was deeply poetic. I was reminded not only that some dead creature lay on theother side of my meal but of my own ticking mortality too, and the death that will come for me one day, whether the result ofviolent food poisoning or some other cause. The equally old lemon slice that accompanied the chicken was a nice touch as welland showed an impressive attention to detail. So, yes, expensive foul fowl may not be to everyone?s taste. But if you enjoy thepoetry of Edgar Allan Poe or the dark stylings of Bauhaus, India Grill is the restaurant for you. However, if you are more afan of conventionally good tasting Indian food, Mintt is not too far away. As well, there are several other excellent ethnicrestaurants in town, that cater to those philistines who prefer traditionally delicious food more moderately priced: China Kingand Lemoona House come to mind. I ordered lamb biryani and it was terrible. The meat was so chewy and dry. Most pieces of the ?lamb? were not eatable parts of... the meat, they were pieces of bone and gristle. The meat did not taste like lamb at all and I know how lamb tastes becausethat?s the main red meat that I mostly eat/cook. I also ordered vegetable biryani and it was not good at all either. All thevegetables were overcooked. It was a very bad experience and I am disappointed. Read more

The person who took my order did not respond when asked what food to recommend. I ended up ordering a meat and veggie dish. Very... disappointed with the food. The meat was overcooked and did not taste fresh at all. The cauliflower was definitely overcookedsince it fell apart when trying to pick it up with a fork. Overall very unhappy with the whole experience from start to finish.Ended up only eating a few bites and passing on the rest. Read more

I am sorry but this is by far the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. The quality of food, I dont think the owners would eat,... let alone serve to customers. The meat is old, flavoring bland, and I immediately had to use the restroom after eating the food.Something is terribly not right about this place. I am even considering calling the authorities. By far the worst diningexperience I?ve ever had, in anywhere around the world. Hands down abominable and unredeemable Read more

Two entrees amounted to $40 worth of rice, rice, and MORE RICE!! The limited amount of goat meat (see the photo for a game of... where?s waldo) was NOT AT ALL fresh and tasted like it was kept in the fridge for a week and letting it become rubberized, before microwaving and tossing it together with an overwhelming amount of rice for a ?chef?s special? price tag (btw the menu onYelp is either fake or super outdated because the prices are at least 2x the amount). I really wanted to like this place. Theowner looked like he was legit (in a traditional outfit it seemed) and though the inside is literally a hole in the wall, I?vetasted some great eats from seemingly humble restaurant appearances. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the quality of food andthe high price they are charging for what amounts to be buckets of rice. Read more
