Prices kinda high, but food very good.

The female at the cash register on 09/03/22 was terribly rude for some reason. She act as if we got on her nerves because we... didn?t immediately know what we wanted. I asked a question about my order & she ignore me but responded to the person with me.Although we ordered separately. Very strange behavior. Plus my fish was very small potions only 3 but tasted ok. Look like akids order. The other person was not pleased with their shrimp order. We were very disappointed in the service. I spent over$15 & other person spent over $20. Read more

I have heard about the Raytown location (it is somewhat of a local legend), and discovered that Independence had a place, too. I... had the fried catfish with sides of okra and beans and rice. The catfish was good (the seasoning was perfect!), the okra was ok,and I really enjoyed the beans and rice. The restaurant looks a little dirty, and although I was told they had been at thatlocation about a year, it looked like it hadn't quite flipped from whatever the storefront was before it was Lufti's. Ordered 2, pound of fish meals, one with Cole slaw and okra, one with Mac and cheese and okra. The second order was wrong, them... sending green beans instead. No big deal, here's where it gets worse. One bite into the stringy, tough as leather "fish"instantly sent me into a depression. About 20-30%of every other piece was just burnt tasting beading. Sadly this was the last time I give this place a chance. I frequent this place often and the last three times the food quality... continues to decline. To top it off, the Mac and cheese they gave me as a side was like so unbelievably small. Then to top itoff, some of it was dried out along with the fish. I don?t know if they keep over cooking it but the fish was extremely driedout and mostly crunchy. The bread was also kind of hard. I can?t keep wasting money. All of this......was just not good....fish, Mac & cheese were bland and unseasoned. Shrimp, Red beans & rice had a hint of... spice but still bland. The potato salad not good. Chicken was dry. Coleslaw was the worst out of all. It tasted weird and hadand weird aftertaste. Read more

I ordered the fish and wings combo. It comes with 2 sides. I got the fries and okra. The fish, fries, and okra were great. The... wings on the other hand, were not fresh. My wife ordered the same combo, with fries and mac and cheese. She felt the same wayabout the wings. Overall it was a good experience. Read more
