Menu for Vintage Steak House in Independence, KS

We ordered 5 prime rib dinners for $20.00 each and three of them are in a to-go box for the dog! Thin pieces of the toughest... beef I've ever experienced. Meat was grilled instead of sliced according to doneness. This cook staff does not know how toprepare it correctly. The waitress said this was not the usual meat and they were trying to use it up. She told the cook aboutthe 3 dinners being to tough to chew and neither the cook nor the manager came to our table to explain. I guess they don'tunderstand the concept of guest service. I think it was a ribeye steak and not prime rib, and if true, this would be a businessethics issue as well. No Au Jus was given as described on the menu because there was no slow cooked juice to give. On a positivenote the waitress was very good at her job. We will not be back since a friend also told us she thought the prime rib wasn'tgood. Wish we had listened to her! I have no opinion about the other entrees but for the love of all that's holy, do not orderthe prime rib. It is only a $20.00 plate of disappointment. Ordered the loaded potato skins as an app. For our entrees we ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green... beans, and the Chicken Alfredo. The appetizer was really good! However, our entrees were lacking seasoning. The green beanstasted canned. The chicken was very rubbery and chewy. Our waitress forgot to give us our bread and salad, we had to ask for itafter we received our entrees ( did get 10% off for that ) The food just wasn?t very good to us, and for that reason we won?tbe going back. The food was delicious. I got the garlic chicken pasta. It was delightfully saucy and flavorful. The mushrooms and spinach in... it looked beautiful and fresh. The bread and salad that came with it were amazing, too. Our waitress (Amber) was very sweet. She was helpful and attentive but still left us to our conversation. Perfect! This is a nice place to eat nice food withoutbeing too "starched shirt." Read more
