Reviews for Mahana Fresh in Idaho Falls, ID
Quick food with healthy options! The citrus ginger sauce is delicious, it's lemony and my husband thinks it's consistency is... like hot sauce, key lime chicken has a burst of flavor at the beginning and slowly fades, very filling, love the sweetness ofthe coconut rice! Cute atmosphere and staff is really nice! Read more
I love this place!! I came here for a quick lunch and it was really affordable (the kid?s portion was more than enough for my... lunch serving), and DELICIOUS! The service was awesome too. The kid?s serving usually comes with 1 veggie, but they let me dohalf-and-half with 2 veggies, which I really appreciated. There was also a generous helping of meat. I?m so happy I found thisplace! (I will say that the brownie was pricey and not very good?it was pretty oily) Read more
Good food with quality ingredients and vegan options!. I really appreciate that their menu is crystal clear about what?s vegan... and/or gluten-free. There?s no guesswork at all and the their app even lets you identify any food allergies you might have. Iordered a Mahana bowl with garlic tofu, roasted mushrooms and Buffalo cauliflower. The coconut sweet potato sauce. The bowl waslight, but had a good balance between healthy and flavorful. The price was reasonable as well. Idaho does not have a lot ofvegan food options for a traveler like me, but I was happy to try a bowl at Mahana Fresh! Read more
This place is food poisoning waiting to happen. Firstly, when you walk in the store the smell is terrible. Im sure it?s the... Brussel sprouts but wow the first smell is bad cleaning product or rotten fish which is not a good start to a place trying to bea healthy menu. Secondly, the staff we had helping us was friendly but it was clear the rest of the team didn?t care for him. They treated him terribly and in front of customers no less. Okay now time for the food? this place is touted as a healthy placein Idaho Falls by many people on long drives through the upper west US?. I guess they can still call it that but the quality offood and taste is still below average. I chose to build my own bowl and do noodles (cold by the way), green beans, potatoes, andteriyaki chicken (there was no way I was risking that raw ahi tuna after looking at it?). The bowl overall was prettydisappointing, chicken was fine, minimal flavor, potatoes were my favorite part (?), and the green beans were blah. The wasabicreamy sauce could use way more wasabi and the cilantro vinaigrette was like a sugar sauce?! Definitely recommend getting sauceson the side. Overall don?t recommend this stop unless you are truly desperate for something not fried but then again, just findchilis or Olive Garden in town? Read more

Turns out our first choice for lunch was not open and we ended up here at Mahana? I am thankful the burger place was closed... because the food here was great! The ordering setup is a build-it-in-front-of-you model? Wifey and I went with signature bowlsbut you can build you own just as easy. The BBQ luau bowl tasty good to me? Also worth mentioning is the very large varietyfor those that want or need vegan or gluten free?. Oh, don?t forget to get the dessert - a dole. It?s a fruity spiked creamydessert. **they give you a little pirate coin so you can eat and then enjoy a NON-melted Dole? Read more
I was really grateful to find a restaurant with so many vegetarian and gluten-free options when I visited Idaho Falls on my way... to the Craters of the Moon National Monument! It was awesome that everything was labeled incredibly clearly, and the staff wasboth knowledgeable about the ingredients in their food but also incredibly patient, kind, and accommodating of my dietaryrestrictions. Their app and website are also incredibly informative and have full lists of the ingredients and nutritionalinformation for each menu item. Although Mahana Fresh was undeniably accessible and accommodating, the food itselfwas...alright. It was certainly refreshing to have some fresh vegetables and a vegetarian option that actually contained proteinin it after a long road trip filled with...none of those things, but I don't think I could see myself wanting to frequent thisspot if I actually lived in town. The honey sriracha brussels sprouts were tasty and delightfully spicy, but a bit too sweet formy taste (which, of course, I should have guessed from the word "honey" in the name). The sesame ginger broccoli was solid, andthe bites of garlicky cilantro green beans that I stole from my dad's plate were also quite delicious. My mom's roasted sweetpotatoes were, unfortunately, overcooked and way too salty, yet simultaneously lacking in flavor. Also, while I understand thatMahana Fresh is a fast-casual restaurant, many of the vegetables and proteins were all kept over the hot plate of death for whatseemed like many hours, so nothing really felt "fresh." I did really enjoy the sesame garlic tofu, though, although I wouldhave preferred to have the protein warmed (it was served cold, which was odd, considering that all of the other proteins, asidefrom the poke, were kept warm...although, in hindsight, considering how the vegetables fared over the hot plate, perhaps havingcold tofu was a blessing in disguise). The citrus ginger was solid -- it was basically like the carrot ging Read more
