This place is awesome. Has a great aesthetic, the food was very good, and the customer service was amazing. As soon as I walked... in, someone came out to greet me and walked me through the options, very friendly, very helpful. I got the beef shawarma with aside of fries. They also have many plant-based options. The fries were cut to the order and were very fresh, hot, and flavorful. The tsaziki sauce was also very good. They have a dining area downstairs as well, though I didn?t take the chance to godownstairs to see what it was like, but great place! Read more

You can tell they care very much about customer service and makingsure you have a great experience. They make you feel like the most important customers in the world! I felt I had a lot moreveggie options than I normally do and they even have homemade vegan cashew cheese. Food was amazing!! And plated beautifully.(Get the empanadas!) Not my favorite, but you should see if it?s something you?d like. The veggies seemed a little old, and solid flavor overall just... wasn?t there for me. However, the service was great and I can tell they really care about the work they do, so hopefully it wasjust an off day. Read more

We ordered the beef shawarma, the Bacon Jack chicken sandwich, the creamy tomato basil soup, and the falafel appetizer. The beef... shawarma was my immediate favorite. The meat is so flavorful and good. The bacon Jack chicken sandwich was good. The meat wasn?tdry, but was cooked just right. We got seasoned fries with our sandwiches, they were made to order and were good. The falafelare little fried cake looking things. I?m not sure what is all in them but they were great dipped in the fresh homemade Tzatzikisauce. Keep in mind this location serves food that is health conscious. You probably won?t find fatty foods here, but insteadtasty and healthy meals. We went for lunch on the weekend. We were informed it may be a little wait, which was thoughtful. Whenyou arrive you order, pay, and then go downstairs to sit at your table. Or you can sit at a bar-like table on the ground level.Downstairs you seat yourself and can admire your surroundings. The decor downstairs makes you feel at home, a grandparents home. It?s peaceful and easy-going. The Altavita Restaurant is a great place to go with someone to chat and enjoy your time together. Lovely downtown spot: we stopped in for lunch & were really impressed. Loved the antique lights & decor, & the menu had lots of... options including vegan & gluten free. I had a turkey sandwich: best I've had in a long time, real turkey with fresh veggies &a cranberry mustard that was perfect. Read more

I have lived with dairy, egg and casein allergies most of my life, so finding foods I adore when traveling beyond the safety of... my own home can sometimes be tricky. Finding this delightful restaurant was phenomenal! They have so many options to meet everydietary need. They have menus for meat lovers as well, so it's safe to visit with families of diverse culinary preferences andnecessities. We stopped by and were greeted by the owner, who was a very wonderful host. The restaurant reminds me of a cozy, cute little cafe you could find in Europe. You get quality food and an adorable setting to enjoy them in. Don't treat this likea fast food in and out place with cheap, greasy, cardboard food. It's an experience to sit down and enjoy. Plus the owner choseto stay open late just for our party and he never made us feel rushed or unwelcome. One of the best local restaurant experiencesI have had in the USA that mirrors the friendly feeling of Europe. I will come here again my next time passing through. Read more

There is a delightful treasure downtown that is a must visit. There are so many amazing options for many allergies that is just... mind blowing. They have in house almond flour bread for gluten free options (rice flour bread was also available but we didn'ttry it this time!). There is an entire plant based and gluten free menu available. The staff was very willing to describeitems as we were ordering to help us make a conscious decision of what we wanted. We tried a variety of items from empanadas topizza to amazing sandwiches. This is the kind of place you can bring family with little concern of what you can or can'teat. The in house cashew cheese for the pizza with vegan crust was delightful along with all the empanada options and the sideswere to die for. On top of this amazing service and taste, the staff opted to stay open late for us to enjoy our meal. I'mabsolutely impressed and plan to visit again when I'm back in town. Read more
