Reviews for Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, TX
Very nicely located of you like to drive the hill country. Quiet location with a nice setup for hanging out and relaxing.... There?s a small gift shop to buy whiskey and extras plus a bar area that also has food. They have a whiskey flight as well asgood mixed drinks. A variety of seating areas were available. Of course we walked away with a bottle and will be going back forthe tour soon. Read more
We love the Garrison Experience which keeps getting better. They have yummy cocktails and a story driven tour which is both... entertaining and informative. I hope to come back next year and get to experience their new barrel barn. And of course I leftwith a bottle of single barrel! Read more
I'm not even a big fan of whiskey but I love stopping here when we are in the area. The ambiance is always nice, whether it's... summer or fall with rocking chairs, shaded oaks, firepits, music and tasty treats. Was really nice today, they added QR codes ateach sitting area for drinks or food! Be lazy and drink and enjoy, loved it!!! Read more
What a fantastic little gem of a distillery hidden in the country roads of Texas. The location is laid out perfectly and makes... for quite the experience while spending time drinking some delicious beverages as the birds are singing around you! Thebathrooms are really fun and have windows where I was able to catch a glimpse of a hummingbird! The bourbon is delicious, especially when made into an old fashioned! The staff are incredible and very informative! Loved visiting here! Read more
My wife and I visited Garrison Brothers in January for a tour which we had all my our selves. Our guide was the most... knowledgeable about bourbon that we've see in touring dozens of distilleries. He also told the story of Garrison brothers and Iwon't spoil it for you! So we had a wonderful time. Dropped some $$ in the gift shop. Then went home and we both went on the GBsite and registered to volunteer for the "all volunteer bottling team." You see all bourbon bottled at GB is done by volunteers.Sure enough in mid-February we got an invite and we went back to GB on April 1 & 2 and had the time of our lives. If you lovegreat bourbon you have to volunteer for this bucket list experience. You'll love it and make a bunch of friends from around thecountry in the process! Read more
We've done whiskey tours all over, and this was by far our favorite. You get to see and learn about every step of the process... from each of the experts. Plus, the Texas Hill Country views are amazing. The bourbon is delicious and the people are top notch. We've already been back! Watch their website for events--food and drink menus are yummy. Our second time here was during the Red, White and Bourbon celebration. Proceeds were donated to the Pacific war museum in... Fredericksburg which you should check out too. Beautiful outdoor area with shaded seating areas. Some yard games. Food isavailable on their normal days. Nice gift shop with lots of different items including several varieties of their bourbon. Nobuying that on Sunday though. Covered outdoor bar area as well. Tours are available during normal hours so you can experiencethe bourbon making process. You can also sign up and do some bottling yourself Great bourbon and a great place to hang out. Read more
Went drove out from Austin for the tour. I love bourbon, and appreciate Garrison Brothers offerings, so this has been on my... bucket list for a while. The property is beautiful but very exposed to the elements, not much indoor space. If it's a hot day, you'll be sweating outside, if it's cold and windy... you get the point. Overall not a great place to hang out, food and drinkare overpriced, and you'll be sitting in the sun next to a parking lot. Also, the gift shop is overpriced and has no specialofferings. You'd save money and time by hitting up a local liquor store. The tour was interesting, and we enjoyed our tourguide. You get to visit 4 different areas involved in the manufacturing process. However, with only one small tasting at theend, $20 was a little overpriced for the experience. Overall, there are much better, and more affordable, places to go in theJohnson City and Fredericksburg area. Unless you are a huge fan of Garrison Brothers, I'd spend time elsewhere. Read more
