This is my second full day in DC and this place had the best service, food, and ease of any other place I visited thus far.... Everything was seasoned well and tasted delicious. Oxtail, greens and cabbage, and macaroni! The staff was friendly andefficient. There is a relaxed/causal vibe with good music playing. Picked up Friday take out and got the Jerk Chicken dinner with curried cabbage and fries. I came early so I could get a good taste early. What should?ve been 15 minutes turned into 40. All I got was your food is coming... out but no time or an apology explanation or something. I went online and found this place last night but had rather come insideto support. Maybe opening later is best for them if the food isn?t prepped or ready. . I was on my way to bmore eat and Icould?ve been there by now instead of waiting. What I ordered doesn?t even take long to cook because it?s crab cakes andshrimp. My review on the food is 6/10. The presentation wasn?t good. The jerk sauce is good. They don?t give you a lot and thegreens and cabbage isn?t Caribbean at all. It?s like my grandma down south. I had high hopes. I was so looking forward to the opening of this restaurant! This review is a bit delayed but better late than never. I went... there with a group of friends, and we all came to the same conclusion for the most part. The food is flavorful and prettydelicious. Not sure if we went on an off day but the food was not hot when we first got it. I ordered the jerk wings 8/10. Myfriend got lamb chops 8/10. Someone got their pasta 9/10 I also tried their lemonade. Great soul food. The take on deviled eggs was delicious. If spicy isn?t your thing, you may want to get the jerk sauce on the... side though. The fried shrimp with hot honey and lemon pepper sauce was great. You may want to get the sauce on the side if youlike your shrimp to stay crispy. The salmon is great too! Read more
The food was immaculate! I thought I saw my maker at one point, that?s how good it is! Everything felt like it was made of equal... parts suga and spice. The service here was amazing, staff is friendly and helpful. 10/10 highly recommend. If you ever findyourself down that way you should definitely stop by. Read more
Our meal was hot and flavorful and the drinks were great. It?s sad that I can?t say the same about the deserts. For around $9.00... each we ordered two slices of cake. We receive two really really really thin slices of cake. The slice of cake was so thin, oneof the cake turned over inside of the container while we were transporting it and it was in pieces. I do not recommend, anyoneto purchase any slices of cake from Suga & Spice. The staff was helpful and friendly. A limited amount of meters street parkingis available in the front of the restaurant and a limited amount of free parking is available in the rear parking lot. Read more
Came here for a late lunch during black restaurant week. The food was pretty good and flavorful, but a bit over priced & the... service was just ok. I got the stuffed jerk salmon, which wasn't actually stuffed & was a bit under cooked. The greens & mac ncheese were seasoned well, and the jerk shrimp deviled eggs had a nice flavor. Read more
