Reviews for Black Cat Harbor Shack in Hyannis, MA
We ate really, really well. The clam chowder is famous for a reason and they give very big portions of everything. The fried... clams weren?t the best ones I ever had but the Tuna Taco was just wow (aware: it?s a bit spicy). Read more
We found this place last minute, as we are on vacation with our kids for the weekend and they were super hungry. We are so glad... we found it because the food was amazing and the staff was awesome. Peter was our server and he was the best! Super friendly andvery attentive. Read more
Food was just OK. The wine was stepped on 5 times with small pours. Our bill had an added surprise. We were charged a surcharge... to use our credit card. Who runs around with an extra $240 cash to pay for lunch? We will not go back until the surcharge goesaway. Many other restaurants in the area that provide better service and value. Everything that the food was served on was throwaway. Not an eco friendly establishment. Read more
No better than any cheap diner, but very expensive. Good chowder, good mussels (except for the hard-rock slice of garlic bread... that accompanied it), 4 little stuffed shrimp accompanied by baked potatoes that were probably baked last week and warmed up toserve that day. Decent slaw. Ok lobster roll, but there?s much better elsewhere, and cheaper. Nice skinny fries. Sweetwaitress. Not worth the effort to get there, find parking, pay for parking, etc. Read more
Clam chowder was decent. Ordered mussels, which was a small portion for the price and came came with a single piece of bread?I... swear I almost broke a tooth trying to take a bite of it even after leaving it soaking in the sauce (and everyone knows thesauce is the best part at the end). Our waitress responded ?yeah I hear that alot,? and walked off. I don?t mind spending moneyfor good food but this was definitely not worth it. Read more
This is a nice place but I?m not sure we would return. We each had the clam chowder which was okay but perhaps our expectations... were too high, as they are very proud of having won the best chowder of the Cape, but we preferred the chowder we had at the OldYarmouth Inn. Also had one so-so cocktail (a bit watery) and the lobster roll (warm) which was okay but very expensive. Friesare extremely thin which I didn?t care for. Ended up paying $80 for this smallish lunch which seems a lot considering that it?sa very simple place. Might try the Black Cat restaurant next door next time, but we wanted to sit outdoors and have a view ofthe harbor. Read more
We came here to celebrate a birthday, although we originally wanted to eat from next door, the Black Cat restaurant. However... here at the Black Cat Harbor Shack, 90% of the Black Cat Restaurant menu is available. The Black Cat Harbor Shack had generousportions and friendly staff. The drink menu was extensive too. Outdoor seating was nice and there is a good view of the boatsand harbor. Metered parking is available near by. They also had menus available via QR code. Overall, it was great place to eat. A great spot for some fried seafood.
