Not a bad little diner at all. My first time here and the good and service were both very good. They offer the full menu all day... which is really nice and the staff was courteous and right on top of refills. The food came out in a proper made-from-scratchtime and was hot and very tasty, exactly as ordered. Read more
Food is good as can be expected for a mom and pop cafe. The service is ok could be better tho. Called ahead to make reservations... but they do. It accept reservations. When we got there from driving from Salina for Mother?s Day we had to stand for 15-20minutes. Someone told us to try their chef salad because Skaets has the best salad in town. So we ordered to-go and they were very good.... They are your basic iceberg lettuce with tomatoes, eggs, onions, cheese and meat. I would definitely recommend going here if youwant a salad that isn?t overpriced or filled with different kinds of lettuce. We also ordered a chicken fried steak meal and ashort stack of hot cakes. Eat like a local! This iconic restaurant is great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Try their pancake recipe that is unchanged... since the 1960's. I've read a lot of reviews about the chicken fried steak. It is a good one. Looking forward to trying breakfast items next time.
