This is a typical small town Chinese inspired restaurant. The food it fresh and consistent. The service is prompt. If you are... looking for authenticity I suggest to go much further south to Toronto. The one issue with this place is the curb appeal. Windoware dirty, outside planters are overgrown with weeds and the inside resembles an untidy, dusty warehouse. Really! A bit of cleanup would be needed here. Thank god it?s only take out. Read more

It's a shame to have to write this review, as the food is really good. But the service is terrible. About a month ago, we... ordered ahead for take-out, but were missing an item when we got home. We called, and the lady on the phone said we'd get itadded for free the next order. But we had to argue for it at the front desk the next time, as the owner said we weren't toreceive it. Then yesterday, we ordered at 5.30pm, but were told that pick-up wouldn't be ready until 7.30. Okay, two hoursseems extravagant, but fair enough. So I turned up at 7.30, and only then did they start cooking. It was 7.50pm before wereceived anything - so why bother telling people to show up for pick-up at a certain time? I called China house at 3p.m. was told I couldn't pick up my order until 5:10 p.m. which I fully understand they are busy and I... really enjoy the food there so was willing to wait. Showed up to pay for my food 5 minutes early was told it would be broughtout to me shortly. Then continued to wait for over an hour to receive the food. I completely understand being busy and backedup but over an hour and not offered any compensation what so ever not even an apology? and the woman at the front desk was downright rude when I went in and asked politely when it might be ready. Some of the dishes are good and I like to support local butwill definitely make the trip to Gravenhurst next time ... it won't take as long. Read more
