I'm not vegan, but I do like trying vegan food, and have been looking forward to trying The Veggie since I first heard about... them. Located in the old home of Happy Tummy at Lowe Mill, The Veggie retains the open, airy feel and has added some bright andbeautiful colors to the walls, menu, and food. I opted to order online for pickup. Online ordering was fairly easy, though Iwas never able to find my way to where I could order any kind of drink. I really wanted to try their lemonade (heard greatthings!) but couldn't find an option for that. Maybe it's meant to be that way, maybe it's because I was ordering on my phoneas opposed to a computer, or maybe I'm just a dunce. But I was able to order a lemonade at the counter when I got there to pickup my food, so at least it worked out in the end. I was told my food would be ready at 2:30. I was working in the Mill so Ishowed up right on time. I had to wait a couple extra minutes but not more than 5, so I consider that pretty good. They weredecently busy. Masking is encouraged at this restaurant still, and as far as I could tell all staff were masked. I appreciatethat, personally. The staff member I interacted with was pleasant and prompt. I do agree with other reviewers that the diningspace itself catches a decent bit of the smoke/scents from the kitchen. I didn't find it overwhelming and it's a product of thespace they're in, but just something to be aware of if you're super sensitive to that. I ordered the chickun basket -- friedoyster mushroom "chicken" strips with French fries and a dipping sauce of my choice (ranch, obviously). The only lemonadeavailable was charcoal lemonade, so that's what I had to drink. If you want vegan food that resembles "real" meat, this shouldscratch that itch. The bigger pieces of mushroom still had a slightly spongy mushroom texture, but I'd say about 80% of mymushroom pieces were similar enough to chicken that I didn't really miss it. The batter went a real Read more

Also, get the garlic dill fries as your side and the mango ginger lemonade to drink! You will not regret it. I think theowner checked me out and she was incredibly sweet and helpful. I will be coming back!!! Read more

Every vegan restaurant is a good restaurant. I am a vegetarian for more than 30 years and I never had a meat philly cheese or... patty melt. For me it's a bit strange that somebody would create a meatlike, highly processed soy patty to simulate a meatysandwich but the result is a very savory, cheesy, guey, crackling sandwich that goes straight to your umami receptors and playssoothing flavors for you that taste of comfort and safety. The place itself needs some out-of-covid TLC. A better ventilation tokeep the smoke down, more light behind the counter, a faster service, more places to sit, and more and different beverages onthe menu. I liked the charcoal lemonade but I am having a hard time buying into the pseudo science behind alkaline water. Find aplace to sit outside enjoy your sandwich and herbed fries. Read more

We have eaten at this place a few times and really liked it. It had always been on the greasy side, but today everything we... ordered was saturated in fryer oil. It was obvious that the fryer oil wasn't hot enough, so the fries were soggy from the excessgrease as were the chicken bites. The chicken sandwich was no different. The picture shows the bun which completely absorbedall the oil and turned into a soggy mess. We love supporting local vegan businesses but sadly, we won't be going back to thisplace. Read more

Ordered the patty melt with fries and charcoal lemonade. The lemonade was really good. The Patty melt was excellent. Also tried... honey mustard and bbq remoulade sauces which were good. The fries were over cooked for my preference. Read more

I have ordered Krispy Kale Salads from here for the last 6 months. They're usually good. Last week, I had uncooked quinoa, but... I didnt complain. Today I ordered another and it had long tough stems (see pictures). They definitely were not edible. I calledso they could be 'aware' and the lady who answered the phone was rude, took no responsibility, and told me to take it up withDoordash. Doordash didnt prepare the food they only delivered. She even said each batch of greens are different. Although Iagree, however if you do not have greens, that are fit to be served, remove that item from the menu until you do. My 1 Star ismostly for the terrible customer service and how it was handled. A simple apology and we will make it right is how you keep acustomer. Read more

Even if you're not a vegan (which I am not), you MUST try this place! Heck, even my toddler loved the fries with dill and garlic... and we all know how picky toddlers are. I ordered the smoky impossible bowl with roasted veggies and impossible meat. It wasphenomenal. Seriously pretty amazed that the "meat" was all plant based. Hubs ordered the philly cheese patty melt and loved ittoo. With those two meals and an extra order of fries, our total was about $29 after tax. Pretty good, especially considering wehave leftovers of fries and my salad! Colorful vibes inside and the kitchen looks MASSIVE in the back from what I can see- notthat that means anything, I just was surprised at how big it looked back there lol Overall definitely somewhere I highlyrecommend to eat to get a taste of local food and community since it's at Lowe Mill!!!
