Meh. Got a cheese and veggie sub. Didn't know the veggies were actually chopped into something of a brushetta. The cheese was... supposed to be different types but was just white American. Overall, it was not bad and I wasn't hungry anymore... but wouldhave been nice to know what I actually going to get before I got it. Read more

The end of excellence..I have been eating Stanlios since I was 17 In 1971. The last time I ate here ( about 6 months ago it was... still the best with great flavor and the best fried pickle spears in town. Today I received the worst steak sub..meat was driedout and burnt..fried picked were not the fresh crispy spears but round greasy and mushy. I am very sad. They must have newmanagement and new cook. I tossed sandwich a d chips into the trash. The lays chips were the only item worth saving. Read more

My bf and i never been here before and since there were so many reviews we decided to try the kitchen sink. It was really good... other than the cheddar cheese just made it pretty salty for me. But I will definitely be coming back to try the steak kabob anda vegetarian style as well. And possibly a side of fried mushroom if I'm hungry enough. The cashier was extremely nice and easyto talk to. I do love the hole in the wall type of restaurants. They always taste so much better then any expensive restaurant Iever been to. Read more

I came by on Monday to grab some lunch. I saw a lot of reviewers saying they didn't think this place seemed clean, and let me... just say that wasn't my impression at all. It's definitely kind of a hole in the wall, and older, but that's NOT the same thingas dirty. The tables were wiped down, the counter free of grime and clutter, menus weren't sticky, drink machines looked fineto me. So that's good! The restaurant has an almost sort of a retro feel to it, with an arcade game and lots of sports teamparaphernalia. The staff was friendly and was working hard - a large crowd came in right after me and they worked diligently toget all our orders filled. I had heard so many good things about the Kitchen Sink that I sort of felt like I had to try it. Igot mine without ham and onions. I also ordered a side of fried mushrooms because they're one of my favorite things. :) Sohere is my problem: I tend to not like hot subs, and I also tend to not like subs with a ton of different toppings (I'm usuallya 1meat+1cheese purist). Kitchen sink is definitely not that. I personally didn't love it, but I didn't hate it, either! Thebread had a really nice texture to it and the cheese was nice and melty. As you can probably imagine, I will stay in my lanenext time and go with something that's more in line with my preferences. That being said, those fried mushrooms were BOMB. Perfect serving size for a nice snack, delicious ranch dipping sauce, flavorful, crispy breading, and the mushrooms were theperfect size and shape. I'll definitely be grabbing these again, even if I can't find a sandwich that's to myliking. Stanlieo's is definitely a Huntsville institution. I look forward to returning to try more. ETA: the owner alreadyresponded super kindly and graciously to this review on Yelp. I love getting the chance to interact with business owners -- itreally shows they care -- and I so appreciate that fact. Even more excited to try another sub and get anothe Read more

Sure, the lobby and kitchen are due for a remodel. BUT, don?t let that discourage your choice to eat here. The Staff is friendly... and the food is great. Whether you live in Huntsville or you?re just passing through Stanlieo?s is great place to grab a sub. Read more

The food was excellent! The customer service is what I had a problem with. The man at the cashier was super rude to my friend... and I from the beginning. At first we walk in and he said nothing and stared at us until we was ready to order. Secondly, I saidokay I'm ready to order. He said 'What do you want?' I ordered two kitchen sinks one hot and one cold to compare and contrast. Then I got a cheese steak for a friend that came with me. He didn't even say the total out loud he just pointed at the numberson the cash register. Okay, I pulled out my credit card to pay. He said 'oh our credit card machine is down.' I had cashluckily. A woman directly behind me paid with her card, not even 15 seconds behind me and he slid her card with no problem. Hedidn't even mention the card machine was having problems to her. My order became ready. I told him my name is Andre for theorder. When my food came up he said 'Dre' super loud and threw the food on the counter as if he was as if I was a dog. Therestaurant was super busy as I was leaving. He was laughing and talking to everyone even a super rude customer who was mad hisfood wasn't ready yet when mine came up first. I never met the cashier a day in my life so didn't get all of the hostility. ButI will never visit Stanlieo's again and I will also tell all of my friends and family not to go. I'm mad because the food wasprobably the best sub sandwich you can get in the area but customer service is my top priority in any situation because I alsoam in the restaurant industry. I know no one cares and this post will probably be ignored. Read more

I live in Atlanta now, but I have been going to Stanlieo?s since I was a kid (mid 1980s) and on a recent trip to Huntsville I... had to stop in for a Kitchen Sink! Stanlieo?s is still the best sub joint in the world. The Jordan Lane location, which Ibelieve is the original, looks about like it always has with classic arcade games in the dining room and the food is stillfantastic. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. If you are passing through Huntsville you owe it to yourself to stopin for a Kitchen Sink or Steak Bomb. Read more
