Reviews for Revivalist in Huntsville, AL
An exquisite experience. We went in for our anniversary and had a great time. The food is as good as some of the most expensive... and prestigious restaurants I have visited. The restaurant is lovely and has a ritzy yet cozy atmosphere. The service was alsogreat. The fried green tomatoes are probably the best I have had. The drinks are also high quality and use top shelfliquors. It is attached to the hotel so would be a great spot for a gathering (wedding, etc) Will definitely be back. Read more
Great big windows so you can see the street and garage, but at least it is nice light. The food portions were smaller than... expected and I was releived it wasn't huge. The omlette was not salted and cooked to perfection another relief. Overall agreat experience as I did not know what to expect. Read more
Disappointed with the food. It was simply ok and not worth the very high price. Many better options in town. Cocktails were weak... and watery. My party had 2 different fish dishes, a shrimp dish, and a steak dish - all were underwhelming at best. Theatmosphere was nice though as was our server. I was excited to try the place but won't be back. Read more
Loved my experience! The food was excellent quality and cooked perfectly to my preference. The ambience was fabulous. This lunch... spot definitely competes with and beats several of the dining options around the courthouse square. Read more
I came in with an open mind and knowing they may be short staffed because of COVID. I've seen pictures on Google and instagram... and the place looked good, but for some reason no one wants to put the good reviews up here. Anyway, I made reservationsthrough open table for Saturday at 6:15pm. We had no issues getting seated when we arrived. We were seat at a cute little tablein the back. I ordered the Spanish rose cocktail and loved it. We also started with the crayfish hush puppies. They didn'treally taste like crayfish, but they were delicious with a little kick to them. We both also ordered the French onion soup. Itdoesn't come smothered in cheese like I'm used to, but it was still really good and a giant bowl! I got annoyed because theybrought the entrees immediately after they brought out the soup. Poor timing. Should be after the soup because the tables aresmall and you don't want to rush eating the soup so your entree doesn't get cold. I ordered the truffle pasta with chicken formy entree, which was cooked Al dente, perfect. Great flavor. My husband got the sausage and duck stew and it was really good! Itcame topped with a sweet cornbread and it was so good! We ordered a side of roasted beets and it was presented very poorly.First of all, only 7 pieces and just thrown on and unvarnished huge plate.... They tasted good... but 7 pieces are not aside. We did both get dessert and coffee as well. He was not a fan of his espresso, but I enjoyed my cappuccino. I HIGHLYrecommend the s'mores dessert. It comes out smoked in glass. So good! He ordered the apple cranberry tart. We both didn't thinkit was anything to write home about. I would come back. But I hope they fix those little issues. We didn't have any of theissues people complained about in the negative reviews and the people sitting around us loved their experience. Hopefully morepeople will share honest reviews. Read more
We chose to have our co workers retirement dinner at The Revivalist, inside the beautiful 106 Jefferson Hotel. It could not have... been more wonderful! Each course was served to the entire table at the same time, no small feat for a group of 21. The platesare refreshing and use the freshest ingredients, we loved the warm watermelon salad and the filets were the best I?ve had inHuntsville. Our cocktails were also spot on, the lemon drop martini is unmatched anywhere else! Our evening was delightful andthe staff (managers and servers), made sure that it was. Totally deserving of a 5 star! Thank you Revivalist for a wonderfulevening! Read more
It?s all about the vibes at this new restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and the host and servers were fantastic. The food... presentation was spectacular but it fell short on the taste. Our main course dinner was under seasoned and bland. The greenswere undercooked and sitting in a sea of sauce and mash potatoes. I asked my husband did he get mash potatoes and he said thatit was mixed in with the sauce. It was not a pleasant experience to eat this meal. The dessert was good though. I was hoping forgluten free options too and they didn?t offer much. For breakfast the outdoor patio dining area is so cozy and beautiful butagain the food was awful. I didn?t think a place this nice could mess up breakfast. The omelette was under seasoned and overcooked. I could barely find any cheese and the veggies inside was sparse. I expected so much more for the price we paid. Pleasetell the chef to season the food! Read more
Went on a Sunday around 1pm. Had a reservation just in case. When we got there, there was no one there eating. We got worried.... The staff was very friendly and courteous. Food times felt like they could have been faster with the low amount of customers. The food was fantastic though. We loved it. I definitely recommend this place! Read more
