I've had it to go twice this week. I miss this place. I moved away or I'd be there alot more, that's why I didn't mention... service or atmosphere. The food is fantastic! My favorite Mexican restaurant hands down. Even better than the ones I've been toin AZ. You can't go wrong, everything is delicious. When being there in 5he past the staff has always been great. The food isn't that great here but that's not really what you come here for. It's that 70s style greasy Americanized Mexican... food that sticks with your gut until tomorrow afternoon food they serve here. Your definitely not going to want to put the foodhere on the gram. It's a place where you come to sit in a dimly lit bar or the vibrant colorful dining room and enjoy strongmargaritas and good service with friends and family at a classic Huntington Beach establishment. Our busser was far more attentive than the server was. We got the wrong food and when I asked for a box for my tostada I was... given a tiny box that I needed to smash everything to fit it all in. The decor was fun but multiple people throughout therestaurant were using the flashlight on their phones to read the menu. Mario's is a local hangout that serves up great traditional Mexican food. You can always tell the quality down to the salsa. The... service is fast and efficient. I, personally, order no seasoning on my shrimp tacos and they are perfect. My son has enjoyedburritos, casadillas and dessert that he has loved. Great service and food in a cozy, comfortable old school booth setting withvisual interests and warmth. Highly recommend ???? Update: We've been to Mario's a number of times and the food is consistentlygood and the service is very good. Love the cozy booths to relax after a long day working. Added pictures of the gorgeous shrimptostada (no salt requested) salad. My son loves just about everything but especially enjoys the servers who we have come toknow. Mario?s serves good quality Mexican food for good prices. The menu itself is hard to read with no clear order of items or short... explanation of what the dishes are but the amount of options is astonishing and there is something for everyone. Service wasgreat, fast and friendly! Read more

The people leaving 5 stars obviously have not gone to Morena's Mexican cuisine on Edinger and Gothard and done a Real comparison... of food. When you see a review that mentions "Salsa" please see the picture of the Salsa and see with your eyes what "TomatoSausa Salsa IS" Look I get it, I understand that these Fanboys are Locals and they want to defend their spot. Oh and when yousay "Kids Love The Food Here" well yeah I get that too. My Son will eat anything and say it's great, hell it's Food. From me, myexperience was just very unappetizing. To start they serve you Rock hard very thick tortilla chips with a true Water TomatoSauce Salsa. Please see picture of Salsa on chip. Honestly this is the worst Salsa & Chips I've ever. I ordered Two CarnitasTacos. OMG they brought me to soft tortillas filled with Super Dry Pork Chunks. No lettuce, No tomatoes just Dry Pork. I calledthe waiter. I told him I had no idea you serve those like that. I had assumed that you would ask the customer what they wanthard or soft shell. No sir this is our Taco if you want a hardshell Taco you gotta ask. So back they went. Then they serve methe tacos I ordered. The waiter popped back up in like 5 Minutes, I'm sorry we gave you someone else's plate. Another First forme the guy reached over and took the plate ."I swear" then 5 Minutes later he came back with another plate. Very strange to saythe least. Ok the beans were very Salty not good at all. My taco is coming apart in Giant tortilla bites because the shells areso thick. Restaurant is clean and cozy. Excellent service, the food is good. There is plenty of seating. drinks here are good, specially... the skinny margaritas or Cadillac. I would recommend this place for a family dinner or to celebrate a birthday, they haveenought space for it. Overall a wonderful experience. Open daily from 11am to 10pm. Read more
