Just there yesterday. Meal was sub par. Food was bland. Steak was good but could have been seasoned a little bit more. Fries... were soggy. This place is not child friendly. Staff has the personality of an egg. They offered nothing for my grandson. Theinterior looks like they?re stuck in a time warp. The bathroom is tiny and needs some major updates. I would visit again. Very dissatisfied. Went for Valentine?s Day dinner. Steaks were subpar, unseasoned and didn?t compare to other steakhouses.... Cream of spinach was bland, flavorless. French fries were the best part of the whole meal but when I asked them to wrap my foodthey did not give me the fries to go, I had a whole serving for 2 that they either threw away or gave to the next person. I wasrecommended here because I heard the owner was a big part of Peter Luger but I was disappointed. Not to mention the slowservice. We waited a long time for our food which wouldn?t have bothered me if it was worth it. The waiter also refused to makeeye contact while walking by so it was impossible to flag him down. A much lesser known steak house that has been around forever. It is an unassuming house that you can easily pass by hundreds of... times without noticing. The interior is also stuck in times long gone by. But if you just want a good, reliable steak meal, thenthis is a good option. The single page menu is limited to the simple classics, but what else do you need. Trendy places likeBlackstone's, Teller's and Insignia are just plain exhausting most of the time. SO we have been coming here for years. Our last experience was not so good. Last night was my sons 21st birthday he wanted to go... once again . The waitress was not friendly at all and acted like she was doing us a favor. The steak was a little fatty and overcooked. I asked her to wrap the leftovers. Not what it used to be. Place had a weird mold smell and badly needs renovation. The seats are very uncomfortable. You can't... ask top dollar and have a bathroom that looks like that. It was also empty on Saturday night. Loved the bacon, creamed spinach,and drinks. Filet was just okay. Guys liked the rib steaks. I hope they renovate, update the menu and get a better manager.Otherwise not worth the money. Read more
I used to love this place for the staff & the food & charm. I want to still love this restaurant, but sadly, I can?t keep... making excuses for overcooked steaks & bad service. The servers we loved from a few years ago are gone. The owner, who wasserving us Friday night was also the/bartender/bus boy & quite possibly the cook too. She seemed genuinely annoyed to be there.I?ll spare all the details & get right to the issue. Steaks are what they do & four out of four steaks we ordered were ALLovercooked. The waitress/owner was short, curt, & all around rude. Dinner for four was $700 with 20% tip. Service was mediocre at best food just as bad Ordered Rib Eye - medium rare - served medium well - no taste and tough as rubber.... They never came to ask how anything was or if it was good or not. The drive was worth it! We were recommended by our good friend Linda and, after getting a sample of PG's signature steak sauce... from her, we decided to see what all the fuss was about. Well, I'll begin by simply saying..FINALLY I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED forbelieving the "hype". My wife and I pretty much cut the steaks with our forks for God's sake!
