Hickory Tavern is a better than average experience. Stopped in around 2:30 for a late lunch. Initially the restaurant is quite... large for the area. Clean and well staffed with several waitresses, bartenders and table bussers. Our waitress Hailey waspersonable polite and prompt. 5 stars for her and her personality. I had the turkey melt with Swiss and tater tots. Tots werebasic tots. Sandwich had nice fresh onions and plenty of thin turkey slices. Sandwich was very salty. Bride had chicken blt withchips. We stopped in this morning to try out brunch because everywhere else was packed for breakfast. We were very disappointed. While... I understand Hickory Tavern is more of a sports bar, if you offer it on your menu you should deliver a quality product. Myhusband got the chicken and waffle sandwich, daughter got the grits, bacon eggs bowl and I had the steak and egg tacos. Myhusband's waffles were good, but that where it stopped. Grits had zero flavor even being loaded down with cheese and scallions,bacon was way undercooked, and the steak was overcooked, more fat than meat and what meat was there was chewy and it seemed thatit was being covered up with a sauce, tomatoes, and scallions again. To leave a meal hungry is sad. We spoke to our waitress,who then reported to her GM. While our meal was comped by half, that was not the point. We did not go into a restaurant lookingfor a free meal, we wanted a quality meal. I would strongly encourage sticking with their normal menu and steer clear of thebrunch menu. Read more

Everytime I eat here. It?s a let down. Okay hey blame it on the chef? I?ve been trying to get good food here for the past year... and everytime it?s a let down. Today I finally decided to post pictures. Because talking to the manager get me nowhere. So youtell me?. Biscuits were raw. My over easy egg was fried and yokes cooked. Bacon was also raw. I sent that back and told the chefto eat it. He wouldn?t?. Of course. And idk what restaurant does not have a toaster but I don?t want black soot or burntanything of a piece of toast. It?s not even toasted. It was another let down. Oh all the negative, there was this one serve whostopped to ask me what was wrong and he tried to make it right. I was at the bar and he was a server name BRAD. He deserve araise. For real. This man stepped up to a challenger that was not even his to take on. He sets the standard for hickory tavernseverywhere. Of the 3 HT I've been to, this stands out as a clear winner. Hands down the best food I've had from a HT or any other bar type... restaurant. Everything was fresh and amazing. I highly recommend this place for a meal and drink. Read more
