We stopped for some lunch, and honestly we felt right at home! The staff are absolutely amazing, so easy going and cheerful! The... food was perfect, we got a kids meal, some mozzarella sticks,veggies and fries (best I've ever had might I say), and my mom gotsome fish and chips, she said its the best fish shes had in a long time! My girlfriend Caroline and I visited the restaurant for a second time this past Sunday, and she had the burger while I ordered... the English breakfast with a cuppa tea, and extra English bacon. It was lovely, and the bacon was the best part. He brines,cures and smokes it himself and the result is a lovely bit of bacon reminiscent of a pea meal Canadian bacon, but with awonderful hint of smoke that you can smell and taste. Caroline enjoyed her burger, and I liked the bite she let me take of itwhile sharing my sausage and a strip of bacon with her. What you don?t see in the photo are the grilled tomato and mushroomsunderneath the toast. We will be back again, and looking forward to sampling another item off of theirmenu. Update: 2022-08 Caroline and I dropped in to the Diner with my brother Rich and his wife, three orders of fish n chips,and I was the odd one out and ordered the roast beef and onion grilled cheese. I also had my gf order an extra piece of fish, soI had the best of both worlds! We had three milkshakes delivered to the table, and I can speak for my strawberry milkshake, itwas a pleaser and I'd order it again in a heartbeat. I love the food and the great service. Read more
My girlfriend and I recently moved into the area and had we made our first visit to Route 2 diner for lunch on Saturday. It's a... very cute space that makes you feel comfortable right away. The staff were so sweet and attentive. It looks like they have dailyspecials which is a bonus. It was the bacon cheeseburger the day we went and it was delicious. My girlfriend had the fish andchips which she said was also delicious. I'm excited to have this restaurant so close to us and will definitely return. We arevery excited to try their roast dinners on Sundays. Highly recommend :) Read more

Great place to eat! If you?re looking for a fancy restaurant that substitutes the quality of their food for ambience, this... place is not for you. However, if you?re looking for some of the best home cooked meals on the island, then this family runbusiness is the place for you! The food is excellent and fresh, and the portions are large. The burgers are amazing...one ofthe best I?ve had on the island. The owners are very friendly and accommodating to their customers. Read more
Update: still great. We have never had a bad meal and we come fairly often. Staff/owners are amazing and the food is always... great. We are moving to the area and we were nervous that there really isn't anything to eat out there so we gave the diner atry and we are very happy. Good prices and tasty food and great service.
