Ok! Wow not anything I expected. I have eaten in Jamaica as well as many other island nations. Mr G is authentically awesome.... Do not expect ANYTHING like the horrible ?applebee?s jerked chicken or any other chain restaurants bad attempt at jerkedchicken. This is authentic cooking as if you are at roadside diner in Jamaica. Yes!! there are bones inside the curry chickenboti. Thats how it?s supposed to be made. I loved the food and atmosphere here. So, hole in the wall! but awesome feeling. This is definitely a ?Peace be the Journey? place. I really really enjoyed the lunch jerk chicken with side of plantains andcabbage. Perfect seasoning on all three. Yes, Karen, i read all the other reviews before i ate here. The salt was perfectlyportioned. Mistakes might have happened to others in the past but my experience at Island Tingz was flawless. Great staff too!I stand behind my ratings . This food was delich? no cap. Read more

I ate at this place twice since moving into the humble area. First off, the men prepare the dish sloppy. The jerk chicken was... super dry n lukewarm. The only thing that was descent was sweet plaintains and rice and peas. Second time I visit was 09/6/22. Iordered curry chicken, rice and peas and cabbage. This is the first time I had curry chicken that was beyond salty to a point ucouldn?t taste curry but salt only. The cabbage wasn?t good as well. The rice and peas was okay but curry sauce on top made itsalty. When a person knows how to cook, they don?t put loads of salt. This is unacceptable next time measure salt because thiswould be banned by FDA. My boyfriend ordered oxtail and it was cold and sloppy, more salty sauce instead of meat. Suggestion, change your cook because he puts way too much salt in food, makes it lack taste. The food will give you high blood pressure ifthey continue to put all that sodium chloride (SALT)! I tried again today 09/09, all I taste is SALT. Purchase jerk, macaroni(salty), and cabbage (no salt). How u going mess up macaroni highly disappointed at cook! Read more

Super chill and casual environment. Deli style serving dine in or to go. Best island food I?ve had in a long time (frequent... traveler and family lived in the islands). The jerk chicken is just spicy enough to let you know and to still enjoy all theflavor. The stewed chicken is rich in flavor and fall apart tender. Perfectly tender grilled plantains and the rice and peas isfilling and flavorful. My new favorite place and I will definitely be back! Read more

Food was tasty. Portions were plentiful. Cashier/hostess was extremely pleasant. Asked sour faced gentleman for a Rum Punch.... It took him 15 minutes to fix it as walked in and out of kitchen chatting with kitchen crew. Read more
