Finally a place in Hudsonville that has good Bourbon & food. I have been to Derby a couple of times and always had good food and... service. Last night I took my wife for the first time. Food was excellent. I had the Hot & Sweaty and she had the One of A Kind.Also, I love Bourbon and they have a great list of bottles to choose from. My husband and I went for lunch and got both the fry and slider flight to share, as well as a beer and a cocktail. Everything... was great but the All American slider was overcooked by a lot and had a microscopic amount of bbq along with maybe 3 littlehaysyack onions. Not at all as delicious as the other 2 sliders unfortunately. Our waiter Chad was excellent. We definitelywant to come back and try more items on the menu- one thing my husband mentioned was that the entire menu sounded amazing so itwas really hard to choose what to get! Read more
Tried a new place tonight with some friends. This is a fairly new restaurant located in Hudsonville. It serves a few different... types of burgers and sandwiches and pizza. We all enjoyed our meals. My friend said it read the best GF lava cake she everhad. I got the burger. It was good but could have used more BBQ sauce on it. I was intrigued by the flight of fries and theflight of sliders. This place is a gem! Everything about this place is great. Lots of different menu items to choose from and there doesn't seem to... be a bad option. Both cocktails were strong, unique and delicious. The sandwiches are amazing and the portions are generous. Thechips appear to be homemade and will not make you regret skipping the fry upgrade. The service was also very fast, which wassurprising since it was a full house. Truly nothing to complain about at Derby, we will be back someday soon. Read more
First and 2nd time at Derby Tavern, still very impressed. 1st time, We were invited to a birthday celebration and had one of the... side rooms fitting 30+ people with standing cocktail tables and seated tables. The staff worked as a team and kept everything inorder. Quality Food, Drinks and of course great service. 2nd time, I took my boy out to dinner and we sat at the full bar whereTony took care of us and recommended the Friday special; he was spot on as food & service was phenomenal. "One of a Kind" was a heavy yet delicious pulled pork sandwich. Hint: ask for extra pickle because they make the sandwich pop.... The pork is very tender and delicious. Beer cheese and pretzels...can't go wrong...served piping hot. It was warm and cozyin the restaurant. We were seated immediately. Our drink orders were taken and served immediately. Our food was pretty quickconsidering the busy lunch hour. My husband gives the mint julep 6.5 out of 10. The mint leaf should be muddled into the drink:) not just a garnish. Generous pour of alcohol though. We'll be back. We're excited to try the fry flite next time. We're soglad to have this new place in town! Read more
Was a long wait (50 minutes) but we knew it would be long as it was 6pm on Friday night. Beautiful place as soon as you walk in.... Friendly staff. We where even helped by who we assumed was the owner who was there with guests enjoying the place. It made thedifference for us. We will be back. We had the slider flight and nachos (sub with pulled pork). Food was amazing. Finished themeal wit lava cake and turtle cheesecake. Amazing. the cheese curds where the best we both had ever had!
