Seasonal cafe closing end of October. Lovely spot but they closed the kitchen 35 mins early when we drove all the way there from... Halifax - too bad because we were 4 and they had 5 more people show up after us too. So? no soup, no sandwiches,? we could onlyget baked goods and tea. Carrot cake has no nuts (thank you!!) and bumbleberry crisp was warm and deelish. Owner should makesure if they close at 3pm Sunday to pay staff until 3:30pm to be able to still offer food to customers. Read more

Cosy place we stumbled upon while driving, parking lot was full ( always a good sign) soup and buns were homemade and delicious.... We looked at other people's meals and serving sizes were very good whether it was soup, sandwiches or desserts. Prices were verygood and staff was great. A seasonal business from May to October, one I would recommend as I will gladly return there again. Read more

Today I planned to have lunch at Trellis Cafe in Hubbards. I was greeted by a lovely waitress and took a table inside. She... brought me a delicious coffee while I waited for my lunch. The other, a male waiter (the owner, I believe) waited tablesoutside. Before my meal arrived the male waiter came through the cafe and into the kitchen, where there was a loud and heatedexchange between him and the cook which included dropping dishes loudly, slamming doors and a lot of swearing. I wasimmediately uncomfortable and had to cancel my meal and leave. The lovely waitress apologized repeatedly for the exchange whichwas not her fault. I would not stop there again. If that?s how he treats staff with patrons on premises?.this place won?t beon my list of stops in Hubbard. Read more

this place is truly outstanding. It's worth the drive out to Hubbard's for their food. They have the best eggs Benedict I've... ever had. The hollandaise sauce they have its so so amazing. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Read more

Loved my curry quinao and my lunch mates said the vege burger was maybe the best they've ever had. Yummy food, good service and... a charming patio that we enjoyed after a swim at Queensland Beach. Read more

DO NOT EAT HERE Horrible food and service, very rude owner!! I'm a local, my friends and I went there for my friends birthday,... we ordered bre and it was cold; when we told the waiter he told us that is how it is supposed to be and then the owner/chef cameout to our table and told us to leave his restaurant / incredibly rude and disrespectful. My friend does not deal with conflictwell and started crying and having a panic attack and then the waiter proceeded to come over and tell us we needed to leavebecause they needed our table for customers (there were no customers waiting for our table) / Do not be rude to people becauseyou never know what someone is going through. Nice enough environment, decent menu, sweet server. Trellis plants fell in our food and drink. Cafe offered no cafe drinks.... Slightly pricey for lunch, so I said I'd order a side of homefries to share with my boyfriend ($7) - There were 11 small cubes.I did not eat them and said I wanted them removed from the bill -They would not. I still did not eat them. This place wasunfortunately one of the only options around. Read more

Well, after several years of many great experiences at the Trellis, I have to deduct a star or two after our last visit. I've... always assumed that pretty much everyone in Nova Scotia (especially restaurants that serve seafood) know that you don't eatmussels that don't open fully when cooked... but I guess that isn't the case. So, we were a party of two couples. We orderedmussels as one of our appetizers. When they were served, about half of the mussels weren't open (closed tight). No biggie... weate the ones that were open, which were good, but naturally (or so it seemed to us) we didn't eat the closed ones. I even openedone of them, but as usual with mussels that don't open when cooked, it smelled bad. (but I always have the urge to check) Ourwaitress (who was lovely) came to our table to see how everything was. We point out that we couldn't eat half of our musselsbecause they weren't open (again assuming they knew what we meant by couldn't eat them). The waitress takes them away, sayingshe'll need to speak with her manager. After a little while, another waitress returns with our half plate of mussels and says,"so the chef managed to pry open your mussels for you. Here you go..." . We all said, no, you don't eat mussels that don't openwhen cooked. She said, "no, they all had a little opening where you can pry them open". ..and we said no thank you. She says,"so you don't want them?", and again we expressed, no, your not supposed to eat mussels that don't open on their own... ...anyway, she didn't understand I guess, nor did the "chef". We were having a nice evening, so we didn't press it or want to makeanymore fuss and said we didn't want them. Then about 5 minutes later we overheard the second waitress tell the table next tous, that had just seated, that there were no mussels (coincidentally it seemed). ...Anyway, it's a long story, but it's hard tobelieve that when you are spending over a couple hundred dollars for a dinner out that the restaurant wo Read more
